Tarpon Point Grill and Marina

My bride and I took our family to enjoy some seafood and it did not disappoint. It was lunch time and my daughter in law desired grouper, which she enjoyed. I savored the blackened walleye and was told even the Reuben sandwich was pretty good. I took no issue with anything except for the fact that our server wore mirrored sunglasses, inside. We never made eye contact obviously due to this reason. In addition, our server told us the vegetable of the day was squash and zucchini but instead we received carrots and green beans. We wondered if our server had a rough night. Overall though, we enjoyed the food and the prices seemed similar to others so no real negatives. Nothing to rush back for but nothing to stay away from either.

We arrived for lunch and there was 1 booth with a view left but it had a reserved sign on it. I found no where online to reserve a table? I ordered the firecracker shrimp tacos and there was nothing firecracker about them. We waited for a long time for our food but yet only the chili was hot. Shrimp was plain fried (not tossed in the molten sauce as advertised) with only a drizzle of a cream sauce on top. I used some of my husbands ranch dressing and it helped. Black beans and rice had a nice flavor, again not hot, and the rice was a little undercooked. My husband said his wings were good but not hot. He said the chili was piping hot though. We ordered the lava cake for dessert and there was no lava. None. Waitress came by and I showed her so she put in another order and a different server brought out a piece of cake on a saucer with no ice cream. I looked funny so she asked if I wanted the ice cream too. Um yes that comes with it. So she brought it back out with one scoop even though the original had 2 but that was fine. When I dug into the middle, it was again dry as a bone so I would suggest trying the key lime pie if you want dessert. We've eaten here before and it was good, maybe it was just a bad day.

My husband & I are here from NH visiting friends. We went to Tarpon Point for lunch today and everything about this place is spot on! The atmosphere, the food, the service. Our waiter Jeff was amazing! So friendly, great personality, etc. The manager made a point to stop at our table to chit chat. Again, everything about this sweet place was amazing! We will definitely go back!!

Tarpon Point is incredible!

Party of six dined in for lunch. Ordered salads, burgers and fried fish sandwiches- all tasty with large portions. The atmosphere was great - we ended up seeing a couple different tables as we requested outside then changed our minds as the tables were either high tops or in the sun. We were seated in a quiet half booth by the window, with a fantastic view of the Myakka River.

To say the staff were wonderful would be an understatement. Every person we interacted with was kind, patient, accommodating and professional. I called ahead to ask about reservations and the employee who took my call was very helpful. The hostess made sure we were comfortable with the table we sat at. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, and made sure we felt welcome to stay after we had settled our bill. The manager stopped by our table to ensure we were all happy with our food.

We had a lovely time and are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to the entire team at Tarpon Point - you made our family lunch a lovely get together!

Every time we visit family, we always hit Tarpon Point at least once. I had the spicy shrimp tacos this time and they were delicious! Portion sizes are great! Our friendly server was Tamara and she was great! I love the atmosphere there, Tiki tables overlooking the Myakka River. We’ll be back again for sure!

Had a great dinner with friends here. I haven't been here since the new owners took over and I was very impressed with all the improvements. The food was delicious, I had a key lime martini, which was ok, the service was wonderful, and our food came out quick and nice and hot. The best improvement, in my opinion, is the overall atmosphere. The inside was updated with a beautiful bar and a lot of tables with a nice view of the river. Outside, there is a nice outside bar and tables overlooking the river. We sat inside since it looked like it was going to rain. I will definitely be back. Great improvements.

Just grabbed dinner here and have to say it was awesome. I got fish tacos (delicious) and my husband got the bacon burger. It was Smokey and cooked perfectly medium rare. Loved sitting right on the river. I’ve been pretty disappointed when we go out mostly so I’m excited to find a fun, casual, yummy place. Go check it out!

We have visited the area for many years and always said we needed to stop and try this little place on the river. It was not crowded the night we stopped in with them and the service and food were very good. They are in the middle of renovation and it looks great what they have completed. Plenty of room outside to enjoy food, music and the water views. We will be back and look forward to seeing things completed with the renovations.
