My bride and I took our family to enjoy some seafood and it did not disappoint. It was lunch time and my daughter in law desired grouper, which she enjoyed. I savored the blackened walleye and was told even the Reuben sandwich was pretty good. I took no issue with anything except for the fact that our server wore mirrored sunglasses, inside. We never made eye contact obviously due to this reason. In addition, our server told us the vegetable of the day was squash and zucchini but instead we received carrots and green beans. We wondered if our server had a rough night. Overall though, we enjoyed the food and the prices seemed similar to others so no real negatives. Nothing to rush back for but nothing to stay away from either.
I believe this was my first visit to Sports Clips and definitely my first to this location. My SIL and I arrived just after 9:00 am. Three men were already getting their haircut and we were the next in line. Registering online and in person appears to be equal as I was able to watch the screen showing who was registered and the time until their appointed time. This location seemed to be very popular despite a competing business literally next door. I opted for a cut with no extras but changed to a wash as well in order to avoid the scratchy neck feeling later. My stylists was pleasant and talkative to the correct degree. Since I have been cutting my own hair for quite a while, I was not sure how much a cut and wash would cost. $33. I thought it was a bit high, plus I tipped $7 as I like to think I tip well but $40 was quite a bit for my 5 minute cut and 5 min wash. Even so, I would return as I am very satisfied with the result. Therefore, I think of the cost as being for the result, not the time it took to achieve said result. It was better than I have been doing. If I lived in the area, I would return. And when I visit again, I just may get my hairs cut again!
Elmaro Vineyard

I am not a wine connoisseur and admittedly my preferred beverages are cocktails and craft beers. However, visiting Elmaro was exceedingly pleasant and enjoyable. To start I just had to sample (full glass) the house made White Sangria. Twice. After, I sampled the Sweet flight of 3 wines (Homestead White, Homestead Red, and the last one escapes me) and purchased the Homestead White to take home.

For those that require something to eat, there was a small food tent available on the Saturday we visited. We also ordered some bread and dips.

The vineyard is beautiful and offers a great setting for some pics. If you are passing through the area as we were, this is a great spot to stop for an hour, or two,. It also seems to be very popular so I suggest you get there early to obtain a nice umbrella covered table.
Smith Park
2019 Mar 26
It is hard to review Smith park at a time when the snow melt has left many areas under water and the flower beds are empty so I will update my review once the proper season for enjoying the park has arrived.

Pros: The park is quite large offering plenty of street parking. On one end is a gazebo with flower beds and pavers leading up to it for more formal moments such as weddings. There are onsite restrooms attached to a decent size shelter although the shelter seems dated. The children’s play area is decent and offers a train car. At this time the train car was locked up behind a chain link fence.

Cons: Parking for the shelter is very limited, perhaps 10 spots??? Lower flat areas are flooded so I wonder what it is like when it rains?
