Nice place to visit on a fall afternoon. We missed the peak of fall foliage by two weeks but the info center is packed with details on things to do, and more importantly places to eat!

Nice town but parking is an absolute mess. We parked in what we thought was an appropriate spot only to find out it was "permit parking only." The sign designating this was tiny, dark black letters on a utility pole. Easy way to make money off of unsuspecting visitors? Guess what, I won't be back. Flim flam, shim sham.

Visiting Jim Thorpe was an absolute delight! This picturesque town nestled in the Pocono Mountains is a hidden gem. The quaint streets lined with charming shops, historic buildings, and scenic views left us in awe. Exploring the Asa Packer Mansion and the Old Jail Museum was an intriguing dive into the town's rich history.

The outdoor adventures, from the breathtaking Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway to the thrilling hiking trails at Glen Onoko Falls, offered an incredible experience. The stunning natural beauty of the area was captivating.

The warm and welcoming locals added an extra layer of charm to our visit. The dining experiences were fantastic – from cozy cafes to delightful restaurants, each offering a unique taste of local cuisine.

Overall, Jim Thorpe is a perfect blend of history, nature, and warm hospitality, making it an ideal destination for anyone seeking a serene escape or an adventure-filled getaway. We can't wait to return and explore even more of this enchanting town!

The visitor center is in the old train station. Very nicely restored and is home to an interesting historical timeline display.

Jim Thorpe looks like a wonderland to me. It is ancient and vintage. There was music event going on. Astounding Fall Foliage views and Halloween decorations made it all worth it. Lehigh George train ride is a whole another experience, that will make you like this place.

Get there early even though the 2 Packer museums don't open until 11am. There's plenty of shops and restaurants and specialty boutiques to keep you entertained. Fall foliage was full on so the 90 minute drive from Rockaway NJ was also a delight. This was my first trip out, but I'm planning on going back to shop along the other side of the main drag. FYI: locals recommend staying at The Times or the Dolon House.

A beautiful little town famed as Switzerland of America is definitely a place of revisit. It’s beautiful all the year round. We visited last year during fall , amazed by its charm and beauty . Undoubtedly it’s undiminished glory is always a fact to appreciate. At first We took the Scenic Railway 🚃 tour , caught the scenes by the George and hills . It was around 1hr fun filled trip. Finishing it off we went to explore the little town . Enjoyed the colorful houses and the Victorian aura that the town is still retaining. The Stone Row is never to be missed. Get to the parking lot early. It is too difficult to find a spot there . You will also find lots of little shops and food vendors.
