Heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, and that's why we drove all the way to Spandau to try it out. But the experience was definitely not worth all that trouble. Kotthu parotta and the curry both just had a lot of black pepper, and because of that we couldn't taste any other flavour in these dishes. Except that, we ordered gobi and pakoda, which were good. On top of these, we had a cup of tea as a drink, which was alright. We tried only vegetarian dishes, so the experience maybe different and better if you are a non vegetarian.

Overall, it's decent, but I'm pretty sure you'll find better restaurants closer to the city center.

Tried both Lunch buffet and Egg Biryani.

In buffet, you don’t have any solid vegan or vegetarian options.

Egg Biryani was okay okay!

We had bad experience visiting chettinad. Firstly when we went there, there was only 2 tables filled and despite of that they kept us waiting long to take order and while placing order the person was rude as he said you want only one dosa. Well i feel like yes we can have one dosa and it’s completely fine for us to order as much as we want to eat than we placed order for mysore masala dosa but there mysore masala dosa was like normal masala dosa only and the delivery of one dosa took 30 minutes. I personally didn’t enjoyed the hospitality of the people. I don’t know about other food items, this review is based my experience

Food: 1/5
Hospitality: 0/5
Price: 1/5
Ambiance: 4/5

For me this is only restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine in Berlin. The spice level in the Chettinad Chicken Curry was to the point. The Chicken Biryani was flavourful and the meat cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit.

Worst service ever in Berlin. Haven’t seen such a rude waiter in my entire stay in Berlin. Food was ok. Absolutely unfriendly staff. Food was delivered late, in intermittent steps. The waiter had the audacity to ask the guests to pay and leave while we were still eating. Never ever go to this place.

I stumbled across this place by accident and thought I would give it a try. The food was very good, the staff very friendly and the restaurant clean and hygeinic. Prices are not high and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Will definetely return when back in the area.

What we liked here: Chicken 65, dosa. What we didn’t like: Idly which was a bit hard and Kothu Parotta which was a bit too dry. The sambar wasn’t that great too.

A goof Indian restaurant in the heart of Spandau!
700 meters from the S+U Rathaus Spandau, Shankara offers fine dine-in of Indian cuisine. It is spacious with good interiors and prompt service. We had ordered from the Tageskarte that's special discount on few selected dishes only on lunch. I loved the complementary linsensuppe. The food was quite tasty and served in good quantity as well. The tariff rate is okayish but yea if you available the lunch menu, it is super cheap and easy goes easy on your pocket. They have a wide range of long drinks as well.
