I used to love the Studio theater but the plays this year have all been meh. They lacked depth and edge. I’ll be getting my season subscription at Wooly Mammoth theater this next year, I’m sad to say. Not sure what has changed but lacking inspiration
Watched the play “Good Bones”. Really enjoyed. Also thought the revamp of the theatre was nice. They paid a lot of attention to detail. And I feel that the movement flows better.
This theatre is outstanding in every respect. Excellent productions, fantastic actors, and some of the most professional and helpful box office and event staff in the city. This is a awesome place to take in the season and to have your events
Great shows at reasonable prices for DC. I get the season package for the greatest discounts. Each comes with a pass to bring a friend to introduce them to the theatre. Small, intimate stages, good sound. Wheelchair accessible (when the upstairs lift functions properly!).
I caught a Saturday afternoon matinee of "Clyde's" here. The show was very good and this review is more about the theater. Ordering the tickets and their delivery was simple and all online. We're old school so we printed ours out. You can, of course, just keep them electronically on your phone. A quick scan at the window and we were in.
There are a few theaters in this compound and the show I caught was at, I think, the Victor Shargai Theater. It's an intimate setting and there's not a bad seat in the house; it's easy for the actors to make eye contact with you.
Catch a show there when you can.

Very nice theater, small and intimate. It was a little bit chilly, bring a sweater or jacket. The facilities are all very good. The plays are not inexpensive, and usually a bit edgy. We saw a play called Clyde's, which was an interesting study of ex-convicts and their struggle to make a life after leaving prison. It was an edgy, uplifting portrayal, and I liked it.
I loved attending one of their improv shows! Everyone I met was warm, welcoming, and FUNNY! Very very funny!
