Rented a double decker boat with a group of friends, this was a fantastic expierience from beginning to end. Coming from out of town, Lake Monroe was gorgeous and i would definetly reccomend this expierience to anyone traveling to the area with friends.
We rented a pontoon boat for a 'boat day' on the lake. The reservation was made a few weeks in advance and it was for a weekday before IU was back in session. The only reason I took one star off was because you do not get a refund on a reservation even if it is raining. The day we went it was forecast to rain and it did so off and on. Since it was a weekday and they were slow and it was inclement weather, we were upgraded to a 'party barge' with the slide and upper deck even though we only had a party of five. The water was still warm and the sun did peak out from time to time so we were able to enjoy our day. A large pontoon party barge has a capacity for 24 people so if you split that between your group it is very reasonable. The upper deck has a large bench which would easily seat six to eight people. The lower deck has four benches two down each side and would seat three to four people each. There are plenty of little coves around the lake where you can drop anchor and enjoy the water.
Great place to rent a boat on a nice lake. Gets a little busy though so be careful
We took advantage of one of the last nice days of the year. We came on a Friday, there was hardly anybody out on the lake, which was fantastic for us. The boat rental was super fast, super friendly, super convenient and easy, and we tread water all afternoon.
Friendly people and good service. Pontoon boats are nothing special, but great for a group cruise. Over nights are the best (you own the lake!). Have a sober designated pilot and a GPS navigation phone app, especially at night.
Boat and jetski rental - Easy. Affordable. Was a good experience for 24 person boat with 21 people on the boat. Jetski rental was good. Was $25/tank of gas. Used 2 full tanks in a full day rental. Boat had a cool slide. Was a little chilly on the boat in the shade, so was on the top of the boat alot in the sun. Would be nice for some more rope on the boat to help us connect more tubes. Although, we did have 10 tubes connected.
Water- nice area. No litter. Alot of sailboats. Nice to have so many outcoves to hang in. Would be nice though to have some buoys set up on the docks so a group with a boat and jetski can wait together.
Bathrooms - a little dirty in toilet paper on the floors. But decent for a public parks and campground. Wish there was a bathroom near the docks though so if you take a break, you can get to the restroom faster and dont waste time.
Park fee - $7-9. Little expensive for just parking for the day, but overall similar to some other parks.
Overall, will come again!

Love this place. Reserved one 10 person boat and tube. Making reservations was easy and I had a confirmation number given to me. There is a deposit but you will get that money back same day. Customer service was great and friendly. The boat we rented was in amazing condition. Very smooth process would recommend this place to anyone.
