We rented a pontoon boat for a 'boat day' on the lake. The reservation was made a few weeks in advance and it was for a weekday before IU was back in session. The only reason I took one star off was because you do not get a refund on a reservation even if it is raining. The day we went it was forecast to rain and it did so off and on. Since it was a weekday and they were slow and it was inclement weather, we were upgraded to a 'party barge' with the slide and upper deck even though we only had a party of five. The water was still warm and the sun did peak out from time to time so we were able to enjoy our day. A large pontoon party barge has a capacity for 24 people so if you split that between your group it is very reasonable. The upper deck has a large bench which would easily seat six to eight people. The lower deck has four benches two down each side and would seat three to four people each. There are plenty of little coves around the lake where you can drop anchor and enjoy the water.
