For a bakery that’s been around since 1916, Orwashers makes very subpar bagels. If y’all want to last another 100 years make better bagels.

We were regulars at Orwashers, enjoying a croissant and coffee on our visits. However, the service today was nothing but a huge disappointment, even at the edge of discrimination. I asked my order to be warmed up, a service they provided in the past. Surprisingly, the response I received was a snobby "no, we're too busy!" Yet, the person behind me, who ordered exactly the same, received the same request without any issues. After persistently asking for the staff member's name, she finally mumbled out "Kelly". Sounded like she made it up, but I certainly won't keep you busy any longer - most likely, neither will my friends nor my family.

The prosciutto sandwich, when toasted, perfectly melts in your mouth. It also took every ounce of my willpower (and my wife's adamant refusal) to not get the lemon bread. Its a breakfast/lunch staple that has not yet disappointed me.

Very poor delivery packaging. They sent me a matcha latte with no straw and it wasn’t wrapped so the drink spilled all over my sandwich. They also sent sour cream & onion chips when I ordered plain. Definitely won’t order from here again…

Recommend Morning Bun & Turkey Sandwich
and also Hot Latte with Oat Milk was awesome

This lox bagel style sandwich was excellent. It had some lemon zest that added a special delightful twist.

Morning burn is the best bread here that I've never experienced before! Please try to eat this. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A historic bakery going back to 1916, this uws location on 81st street near the Natural History Museum seems to have most of the selection of the main / original UES location. The Pumpkin Crumb muffin was a favorite, (moist spiced pumpkin cake with a a crunchy spiced streusel topping filled with toasted pumpkin seeds). I also tried samples of the chocolate, raspberry, and apricot rugelach, and the sticky bun babka, and all were fresh and flavorful. I've previously had various loaves of bread and like the ultimate whole wheat sourdough and the spelt/raisin , swiss health, and pumpernickel raisin walnut the most. The brownie and chocolate chip cookie use Valrhona dark chocolate! Note: there is a bathroom here, but it was temporarily out of service, and there is seating by the large windows and outdoor seating.
- Update: Some of the baked goods such as their jelly filled doughnuts and possibly the rugelach, are famous for using fruit jams and preserves from Beth's Farm, which is a local NY farm that comes to the NY union square greenmarket. You can also find Orwashers Bakery at the Chelsea farmer's market from 5/14 to 12/17.
