The gardens are all beautiful, with so many flower varieties, bees and butterflies, fountains, and a butterfly exhibit. I was happy to walk under the fountain that soaked me and my clothes because it was hot today!
Everything here is beautiful. There's a butterfly garden, outdoor gardens, green houses, a children's area, and they even let you rent out a space for events.
The family and I went over the weekend to the Butterfly Bungalow and to walk the gardens it was gorgeous, we had an awesome time, very peaceful and we definitely will be going back. They were getting ready for a wedding, it is a gorgeous place for many different events. Love it.
Such a magically wonderful place to get lost in all of the beauty. You can really tell the staff takes pride and works hard to keep up with everything and I love that there’s an area just for kids so that the adults can enjoy the majority of the acreage. We packed the lunch because we weren’t sure but there were snacks and Italian ice along with really good coffee so keep that in mind if you’re going and get hungry.
Daniel Stowe Bontanical Garden is absolutely beautiful. Parking is free, and admission is reasonable. The butterfly exhibit is cool and so is the orchid observatory. There are cold beverages and hotdogs served. The restrooms and gift shop are inside.
Beautiful gardens. The Orchid Conservatory is amazing. We went on a Thursday and the garden was not crowded. A varied collection of different types of gardens.
A beautiful Botanical Garden located in Belmont NC.
You enter thru a beautiful pavilion with local artwork and stained glass. There are restrooms and a gift shop located in the pavilion.
You can stroll thru over 30 acres of gardens displaying local plants,a children's area, conservatory and trails to explore. We visited between seasons so most of the spring flowers were finished blooming and the summer plants were just being planted.
They were busy at work getting ready for the summer season as the trails were not cut and some of the gardens were closed.
There is plenty of parking and you will pay an admission fee. Membership plans are available.
Definitely worth a visit when in the Charlotte area .

Visiting Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens yesterday, March 26 2024, from Central Florida, I was really excited to see the gardens. Listed as number 8 of things to do in Charlotte, posted by travel us news, I couldn’t wait to visit. What a shock! Instead of seeing beautiful orchids, flowers, plants, etc. I saw a lot of dead, overgrown, under watered and unkempt gardens! Unfortunately, the weeds have taken over everywhere! Dead branches were hanging loosely in trees. The Wings Exhibit was closed and didn’t show any signs of opening anytime soon. A mound of mulch waiting to be spread. There were a couple of employees, one riding on a tractor and the other riding on a cart. However, I never saw anyone tending to the gardens. The employee at the front door, who was working the cash register, was nice.
Not sure if it’s a lack of employees. However, I would think management would do something about these unloved gardens! At this time, I’m sorry that I wasted my money and time to visit DSBG!

Absolutely fantastic! Went for the summer lights show for my wife and I's 2 year anniversary. It was absolutely breathtaking. We spent almost the full 2 hours exploring. We made sure we to not miss anything! The music and animated lights were an amazing touch. Can't wait to return for more fun events. Next up is the summer concert!
Such a beautiful place! The butterfly bungalo is a must. A very cool experience. All the flowers and plants are gorgeous. Definitely worth the drive out here from the city if you’re visiting.
Sip n paints at The Botanical Garden are a great price and very different than your normal sip n paint. We booked the class through their online website, which was quick and simple to navigate. We did not know what to expect but were greeted right away soon as we entered the facility by the lady front desk. She pointed us in the right direction for the class. I loved that we were able to pick from a book of pictures to paint. The teacher was very friendly and gave us tips along the way to create our masterpiece. The ticket also came with 2 glasses of wine and a snack not paid for the price. I think it was well worth it and more.
It was our last night in Belmont and the gardens were only 1.5 miles from the house we rented. When researching the area I read in the month of July & August on weekends they opened the gardens up at night for Summer Lights. It was a great night being able to see the beauty of the flowers and plants before the sun went down but in cooler weather. Once the sun was down, the lights were pretty and a great way to end our vacation.
A wonderful garden west of Charlotte with a wide variety of plants, it’s sprawling and needs some time to roam through. The butterfly enclosure was amazing with different kinds of butterflies and information about them.
It can get pretty hot here on a hot day. Parking is available, and the staff is polite and kind. Overall, it’s a great place to visit if you’re a plant nerd. They’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

We have been wanting to come here for some time. I would say I’m a little underwhelmed with the visit. Honestly, the gardens that are free at the UNC is actually better. However that being said, it was a nice garden. We did feel that many places seemed to be lacking care which is not what I would expect for the price tag of admission. I would like to return some time and see if perhaps we just came at the wrong time.
They have a butterfly bungalow and I invited my sister to visit together. It was a very soothing/calming experience. Go any day to need a mental break from the hustle and bustles of life and it’ll take you right down in all the right ways! The first stop had a tropical vibe to it and made us nostalgic regarding country life in st. Mary Jamaica. It smells like our grandmother’s yard with some similar tree/ plant. The venue itself is beautiful. My sister and I took a long relaxing walk together talking and enjoying the view. There was also a wedding to be held later that day.
