Everything I tried today was DELICIOUS, and I can’t believe the prices as they do not skimp on the ingredients. The service was fast and friendly, not to mention that it feels great to support a small family owned business in the heart of Scarborough.
I will for sure be going back to try out more dishes, and here’s what I tried today:
Dried scallop, shrimp & egg white fried rice
Curry beef brisket spaghetti with cheese
Garlic fried chicken on rice (T39)
Thousand island spare ribs on rice

Great Fountain Fast Food is true to its name, it really is fast. Typically wait about 5-10 minutes to get your meal that's made to order.
I visited twice in order to get a larger scope of the menu. Here's what I ordered and my rating on each dish:
Pork belly on rice - 4.1/5
Garlic fried chicken leg on fried rice - 4.2/5
Cantonese Chow Mein - 2.9/5
Sweet and sour pork on fried rice - 3.2/5
Shanghai noodle - 3.1/5
Honey garlic Pork chop - 2.6/5
Milk Tea 4.7/5
Lemon Tea - 4.6/5
Because of their vast menu, there will definitely be something for everyone. Do not expect restaurant quality as this is a food court pounding out dozens of dishes per hour. However, food is very fresh and taste great. It is incredibly inexpensive. On average, a combo is 12-13$ with a drink. Great value for money
The milk tea and lemon tea is a must try. The milk tea is on my top 3 hk milk tea in the GTA. Sweet and strong without being too astringent (dry mouth feel). The lemon tea reminds me of a much better version of Nestea. I do recommend getting better straws, it would make the drinking experience better.
Staff is very friendly. Hard working family business. They even started social media to keep up with the times.

I finally made it here! The infamous Great Fountain 🙌 I got the garlic fried chicken on a bed of rice with gravy, and the braised pork belly on rice with pickled veggies. Portions were big! I definitely waited too long to visit!
The chicken is to die for. Super crispy, juicy and tender. Seasoned to perfection and I wanted every single bite to be never ending. 🤤

It's good. I can definitely imagine a time where a meal here was less than $10, but gone are those days. Due to social media this place always has a line and I definitely got a chance to try it. We ordered the beef tendon noodle soup and a salt and pepper spiced squid and pork dish. Both were over $10 but I think slightly under $15. They take debit and cash.
The meal was good but the portion is not really big for the price. I would either expect a meal from a place like this to be a bigger portion or a cheaper price. The taste was good but typical of a Chinese take-out shop. This is definitely a decent option in the area but nothing you can't find somewhere else in Scarborough.

Very large portion. Very inexpensive. Comes with iced tea 凍檸茶 and soup. All for $10, which nowadays is almost impossible to find (unless you go to HK).

I used to order from Great Fountain at least twice a week through Door Dash. The food was always delicious, and the portion sizes were perfect for the price. About 10 months ago, Door Dash eliminated them from my list because they were considered too far from me. I tried using Uber Eats, but the price point increased too high because of the distance.

I saw this place on my fyp and it was so worth it. Definitely a trek if you don’t live in Scarborough, but such a great place to try if you have something to do in the area. The baked pork chop combo was so delicious. In addition, you get a soup and drink included which is such a steal (also delicious).

This place was a major throw back for me, flavours are still delicious and authentic. Used to come here during my childhood, it didn’t disappoint back then and still doesn’t today! Their portions are just the perfect size, enough to fill you up on a hangry afternoon or to share with someone. One of the earliest Asian fast food places I’ve known to put up shop in Scarborough. Who knows how many generations they’ve fed around the Agincourt area?
Awesome choice for any time of the day, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 10/10 on their beverages too, especially their HK milk tea which is a must. Tons of variety to satisfy any craving, I highly recommend this place to anyone!
