Bear Chase Brewery: A Hilltop Haven for Beer Lovers
Bear Chase Brewery has become a familiar and cherished destination for me. The brewery offers a robust selection of craft beers, with particular standouts in the stout and wheat beer categories. The “Buttons the Bear Stout” and the hefeweizen have consistently impressed.
The brewery's spacious interior and expansive outdoor seating area create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a leisurely afternoon or evening. The highlight, however, is the breathtaking eastern vista from the hilltop location. It’s a picturesque setting that enhances the overall experience.
Bear Chase Brewery frequently hosts live music performances, adding a vibrant dimension to the venue. The rotating food menu offers a variety of options, with the nachos being a personal favorite during my most recent visit.
Parking is generally accessible, although it can become challenging during peak times. The brewery's popularity is evident in its bustling atmosphere, which can sometimes create parking congestion. While the gravel parking lot might not be ideal, it doesn't significantly detract from the overall experience.
In summary, Bear Chase Brewery is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts seeking a combination of exceptional brews, a stunning view, and a lively ambiance.

Great brewery with a perfect location. There were plenty of food options from burgers to tacos to pizza. Food was a bit expensive with burgers and sandwiches being $16. The views were incredible and there was loads of seating both inside and outside. Plenty of parking
Must do brewery - gorgeous views - lots of parking - love that you start a tab and you can order from any bar around the location - large variety of beers and seltzers - pretzel delicious 🤤

Love it. Location could not be better, and it's spread over a wide area with beautiful views. Great beers, very friendly staff. Dog and kid friendly, but also plenty of space to get away from the kids if you want to.
Cruised up here on a car event with some of the fellas. I was blown away by the food, I didn't think a brewery would have such good food. The views were also good. The balcony is huge with a lot of seating and heating for those colder days. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely recommend this to friends. There is also a huge parking lot.
I did a 19-mile run on the Appalachian Trail leaving from Harper's Ferry and strategically ended it at Bear Chase. Was so glad I did!
First, the place is amazing. It had lots of space and a great view. They had multiple brews to choose from, so there was something for everyone. The food choices were some of the best iv seen when compared to other breweries. The live music was also a plus.
I left, but some of my crew stayed and camped off the nearby trails. Good time had by all!

Great brewery with a fantastic selection of beer, ciders, wine and food. They even have some frozen drinks that are a big hit. Got the frozen wine slushy it tasted great. The crush Seltzer was fantastic. Plenty of room inside and outside, no matter the weather venue was prepared. No better afternoon than a hike and a beer.
This brewery is quite an operation! Amazing views!!! Really great beers and good food choices. So much space. Dog and child friendly. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. The view of the countryside below is calming. Fireplace was cozy. Award winning brews. Wine choices. Mexican food and pizzas available. Rental properties available. Warm igloos for winter time as well as fire pits with firewood. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a huge lawn. I wish that I lived closer and I would go there often. Highly recommended!
Amazing, kolsch!! After coming off the Appalachian Trail at Ashby Gap, I stopped by for a pint and had the best kolsch thus far in my life (38 years old). I would later find out their kolsch recently won 2nd place in the world. Do yourself a solid and go have a pint!
This place is huge! Such a great place to go to see fall foliage, the view is awesome and the vibe is peaceful. Good beer, nice employees. I would say get there earlier in the day on a weekend because it seems to fill up very fast. Oh and clean bathrooms too which is a plus. We will be back!
We hosted a private rehearsal dinner for 75 people at the Bear Cave (@Bear Chase Brewing). It was amazing: the catered food and beverages were top notch. The staff were professional and attentive. Leslie coordinated and planned things with us and was an amazing point of contact. The event was spectacular overall and I would highly recommend this venue for a large family event. Five stars across the board!
Beautiful day … Beautiful view … Beautiful place with nothing spared.
There’s quality seen in everything here and they have their stuff together.
There’s plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sun or head for a shady cool spot.
The beer and cider were awesome along with the food. The big pretzel was served nice and hot and hit the spot.
They top it all off by piping out some clean and clear classic rock.

The good beer, food, and music, beautiful view, games, trivia, karaoke, a lot of indoor and outdoor space, dog friendly( saw a few water bowls at different spots on the floor in brewery and free dog treats). There is separate place for parties. They sell souvenirs. What else is needed? Seems like a perfect place
One of the most beautiful places I've visited in Virginia. Their beers are great; make sure to try more than one if you can, I've tasted four. The food is delicious and the view is astonishing. We also had the privilege to chat with the general manager who is a lovely person. The overall experience has been amazing and I'm sure I'll come back as soon as possible.
Great view, really nice atmosphere! I enjoyed the heffeweisen and was not let down. The pretzels are the size of medium pizzas and are probably the best in texture and flavor that I have had. Visit at sunset and I am sure you will leave impressed. Zero complaints!
