Ooooh myyy God 😯 The most breathtaking limestone wood which I ever explored so far in Derbyshire 👌😇 Took me 1,5 hours to walk in a circle with taking some photos on Sunday morning (not busy at all). Well worth a visit 😌🏞️🦉🐿️🕊️ Easily to park your car on Rackford Rd where you'll see many cars along the road. No toilets and I saw 2 benches. For all ages and prams accessible.

Love this place, even though it is in-between North Anston and the A57 it feels like its a different world. Its mainly under the canopy of the trees and its paths follow the river with the ancient stones rising up to the sides, a great place to escape the direct heat of the sun under the leafy bowers and to walk with dogs in tow and to enjoy natures gift.

I loved this place as a kid and love it even more since I found out there are very rare plants in this about 3 mile walk into the wilderness. Dead man's cave is here too this is where they have exhibits of ice age bones including Arctic Hare and Brown Bear in Rotherham museum, found in the 60s...
