I played the Fields West course with my son on a Wednesday morning as a going-away gift to him before he leaves for college. The clubhouse was first-class as to be expected as part of a five-star Omni resort. The staff was courteous and the amenities were very nice, although the driving range was closed due to weekly maintenance.
The golf course is well maintained and difficult. A lot of elevation changes, 'false front' greens and some giant sand traps. There are very little trees to block the wind which had a big effect on drives and approach shots. Low handicap golfers will enjoy the layout and challenge, but high-handicappers should bring plenty of golf balls and work on their short game as poor shots will be severely punished.
With that being said, the green & cart fees are over-priced for a course with no ocean, no spectacular scenery, and nothing special to justify the cost other then the "PGA" brand. We are local and glad we played, but probably will never play here again. I'll leave this course to the corporate executives using their company credit cards to impress a client or the tourists who want the "PGA" experience.

People there were fantastic! However, $308 for greens fees was way too much for here. It's in pretty good shape but there is absolutely nothing about it that makes it worth that price. The environment in the evening with all the events and family environment is fantastic. Just wasn't blown away by the course and tried it 2 different times. Maybe worth $100-$150/ round.
Tee time was 8:30 pm, Friday night. Great time to go, beautiful nine holes, bar in between…
So much fun! I highly recommend taking advantage of this experience!

Overall experience, I would have to say, was very underwhelming based on what my expectations were. The course itself is very nice and a challenging layout, and the conditions were very good. And where I think the let down starts, is just the overall layout of the property… Such as how far away, the driving range is very inconvenient… They also used very poor signage to mark the holes in the cart path, which is very confusing. If your first timer… The views on the course or let down as well, although I really don’t know what I was expecting. Period. You’re looking at a bunch of average homes stacked on top of each other and warehouses out in Little Elm… Just not very nice to look at.
One of the big things I didn’t like was the maintenance people seem to be everywhere while you were trying to play we literally counted 14 maintenance people raking bonkers at 11 AM and that was on just one hole… Usually when I play a high end course stuff like that is done before you get there Not while we are trying to play… We had one guy literally followed us for four holes and was raking bonkers. Every time we were making a pro shots. It was crazy. In my opinion for the money I think you’d have a better time playing cowboys golf course over in Grapevine … I just was not overly impressed with this place at all.

Played the Swing(10 hole, par 3 course) on 7/28/23.
The experience was pretty cool. The greens were pretty solid but appeared to have been punched maybe 2 weeks ago.
The tee boxes are mats which is a nice addition. Not a huge fan of this but it was fine.
Most holes are 60-110 yards and have some challenging setups.
They sell beer and drinks along the way and it’s a walking only. Overall a great experience. I will be back.
Cost: $40 for 10 holes and if you play again the same day they will charge you an additional $20. They also rent clubs and small carry bags.

This will be the Mecca for golfers in the United States. What a phenomenal facility. A 2 acre putting green with 36 holes laid out that you can put on. Nine chipping greens over probably the area of two football fields and a huge driving range. Not to mention the 2, 18 hole courses there. It’ll be expensive to play but probably a once in a lifetime. Definitely worth going to just enjoy the putting green was here for the senior PGA championship as a volunteer.
West Course - 5/3/23
Amenities:
Top notch, as good as it gets. Clubhouse and restaurant are really nice. Top Tracer technology on the range. One of the best short game/practice areas I have ever seen.
Service:
Same. Fantastic service and extremely friendly staff.
Course Condition/Layout:
The course is extremely nice, some of the best fairways/greens in the entire metroplex (including private clubs). The fairways are comparable with Trinity Forest, which I think are the best in the metroplex. The greens weren't super fast but they are absolutely perfect.
Pace of Play:
The course wasn't very crowded and we played in a little over 4 hours. They marshall it well, I don't think pace will be an issue when this course starts getting crowded.
Pricing:
I checked 5 stars since there is an option for 4.5. The reason I would say 4.5 is the pricing. The green fee was $270, which is a little steep in my opinion. With that said I would play it again. The biggest issue I had was the $80 golf cart rental fee. In all the years I have been playing golf I have never seen an $80 golf cart rental fee. Drinks and food on the course are extremely expensive, 20% gratuity included in all transactions. I ordered 2 beers and 2 hot dogs in the "food shack" on the course and it was $40.
