We had a large gathering of 20.the food was exceptional. There were celebrations going on in the " Mile " a great time was had by all. Our friends from overseas had the strip steak and salmon with truffled fries and I enjoyed the short rib and tortellini. Highly recommend trying 229 when visiting 👌
Switching it up a bit and the wife and i headed to CBUS for dinner... not disappointed, but I'm still not super excited. Would go back if I were in the area and i had eaten at the other places nearby. But I think I'll try something else next time.
Food didn't stand out but wasn't bad.
Staff was slow on everything from seating to drinks to food. But perhaps this was just the waitress ...
It is located in a park type area and we had a nice walk after dinner :)
I feel like I'm being harsh.. but really, if I didn't like leaving reviews, I was so indifferent, I probably wouldn't have left one...

Nothing special. If you live downtown you might enjoy it. Drinks are kinda weak . Service is good. We did have a dead fly in our drink. There are a lot of them inside.
06/16/2024 - My family, friends, and I came to celebrate Father’s Day at Milestone 229. I have not been to the restaurant in over 5 years. Nice spherical exterior structure and in the restaurants interior. Modern cool decor with comfortable seating. We were there for almost 3 hours specifically because of the occasion. I ordered the Double Angus Burger w/Cheese, Fries, & Cola. It was good. Sadly one of our platters had something unexpected in it. Management were apologetic, prompt, and removed the damaged order from the bill and provided complimentary desserts to my whole party (Thank you, Milestone 229). Nice size outdoor patio providing nice views of Bicentennial/Galbreath Park and downtown. Friendly service. Per friendly. Decent menu and prices. Nearby parking for a fee (free parking on Sundays).
The patio and sunset view is what you are paying for... The food was good, but not worth the prices. The Nashville calamari with fried pickles was nicely breaded and fried to perfection. But there was nothing Nashville hot about it. More like the Thai restaurants sweet chili sauce. Could be we read into it and was hoping for spice. Just expect sweet if you get it. The short rib tortellini was okay but the meat wasn't as fresh tasting as I would have hoped. The tortellinis could have been cooked a tad bit longer as the pasta was still a little hard. The steak frites were supposed to have a truffle base or sauce but there was not much of a truffle flavor so I had to douse them and catch up. And I requested the steak be cooked medium however half of it was cooked well and the other half was medium well. The desserts looked fabulous but we were already disappointed and the drinks looked good. But the wait staff wasn't very efficient and we did not want the extra wait. We might swing by for dessert, but will find somewhere else for dinner.
Modern upbeat restaurant located on the corner of Civic Center Drive in Downtown Columbus.
This place can get pretty busy at lunch time with all of the young professionals working in the area, so it’s best to make reservations in advance.
Parking is not free and may not be easily available during lunch time.
My go to is the Roasted Chicken Salad which can also be substituted for salmon which is also a pretty good.
The AC was up higher than usual so it was pretty chilly, but other than that the experience was pretty good.

Pretty disappointing experience here. Service was really bad. Had to ask for silverware and wasn’t able to start eating because we couldn’t flag anyone down after our food came to get utensils. I ordered the Poke Power Bowl and the tuna was probably a day away from being totally rancid. It smelled and tasted FISHY. I couldn’t finish the plate and tried to eat around the tuna. For a $21 salad, I expected much better. Our server was very friendly but inattentive. They seemed to have a security guard outside to shoo away unwanted company from the surrounding area. My fiancé enjoyed the panko crusted walleye though and he was happy with his meal. But service blows and beware of the ahi tuna. We love this location and will be back to give it another shot but sad this trip was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
My hubby, my granddaughter and I wanted to go to dinner and thought it was a nice day and I felt like eating on a patio so he said why not try Milestone 229, I said ok. From the moment we got there everyone was so nice and polite always with a smile. starting from the host, He seated us outside and our waitress was great. Service was great and the food was awesome 👍 I give two 👍👍 up. I ordered a cocktail drink called "I'm On A Boat" it was exactly like what it was titled. My hubby ordered a "Mojito" that was great. Of course for my granddaughter she had to get a "Shirley Temple" she lobed her drink. For our appetizer we got "Maplebrook Burrata" that was 👍💥, salads were great. I would go back again
We went here for my friend’s birthday. She and I split the NY Strip steak dinner. It was perfect. The steak was served medium rare, and they split the meal for us. It was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We shared burrata for the table. My husband had sous-vide chicken with gnocchi, and roasted mushrooms. And my friend’s husband had the Salmon Nicoise that he loved!!! We loved Milestone 229, and it’s been a long time since we have visited. But now that we moved to Columbus, we will be back! Our server, Casey, was very attentive and checked on us often. The only thing was, she forgot to bring us extra bread for the burrata. But everything else was perfect!
This is our second time here, and it was very nice. Loved the food and atmosphere it’s a cool restaurant with a cool downtown vibe. We have the pretzel bread and shrimp tacos, both were amazing! I had the 229 cosmo and my husband had a bourbon. We split a pizza and it was great!
I was attending a nearby summit, and decided to stop by with a friend during our lunch break. The ambiance was refreshingly open and bright. Staff was friendly and attentive from start to end. I opted for the Lemon Chicken Pasta and it was really good. The shredded chicken was tender, the pasta was well cooked and the punchy feta and artichoke pieces were a bright point. I did grab the S&P shaker a few times, as the sauce needed it for me. But, otherwise was very enjoyable.
Food was flavorful and unique. Service was professional and friendly. Would definitely return!
We had a gluten-free member of our party, and the chef was able to amend the Shrimp Taco appetizer. We got it grilled instead of fried, and it was out of this world. The aïoli was creamy and delicious, the cucumber relish was refreshing, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly.
We also got the Spiced Cauliflower. Flavorful and well balanced, the curry was creamy with just a hint of heat. The cauliflower was crunchy, and the rice was smothered in curry sauce — such a yummy combo.
Our server was Andre, who was a delight. He was friendly and full of laughter, and he made right what the kitchen got wrong at one point, and they did not charge us for the mistake.
The portion sizes were generous. We happily ate just the fish tacos and curry cauliflower for the two of us. And it was plenty of food.
We ate outside and were hoping to get a view of the river, but it was more like a view of the bridge and the street. Also, one of the reasons we ate outside is because the inside of the restaurant had a slight dirty, dishwater smell. I’m not sure if that happens a lot or if this night was a fluke.
Overall, the food was so good and unique and flavorful that we would return in a heartbeat.

Food was super good and the mocktails were great! Great options for people that have dietary restrictions (seafood/vegetarian)
Food was amazing especially the Shrimp Tacos!! The atmosphere was great! Would've been better if the fountains were working but still a great view of downtown! Our waiter wasn't that great unfortunately. We had to ask for silverware and straws. Also had to keep waving him down for other things. All in all, it was a great experience! We will be back!
For our last night in Ohio we ventured out to a different area of Columbus. We certainly made the right decision for our final dinning experience. At the Milestone 229 you have the option to dine inside or you can dine on the patio with an amazing view of the river area. First off the service was incredible. Our waiter checked in on us the perfect amount of times, not too little, not too much, the perfect amount. We started off with some fabulous German Pretzel Bread with a unique but delicious Whole Grain Honey Mustard. For our main courses we had the Lobster Ravioli and the Hanger Steak. Absolutely amazing, the Hanger Steak was cooked to perfection according to my liking and my beautiful date raved about the Ravioli. The side dishes that came with the Hanger Steak were amazing and a great compliment to the steak. Our waiter brought us the desert menu although we were to full to indulge the option sounded incredible. All in all, I can't think off a better place to wrap up our time in Columbus. The truth is every dining experience we had was great with delicious food; however the Milestone 229 was a step above. Highly recommended!
