An interesting area of Copenhagen to have a look at the housing architecture. The houses were all built for military personnel.
The jewel in the crown is the folk museum that opens on Sundays between 11am and 2pm. Run by very knowledgeable volunteers it shows what like was like for people in the navy years ago. Very cheap to visit and an absolute must if you like social history.

Copenhagen's vibrant canal district! Stroll along colorful 17th-century townhouses lining the water's edge. Grab a drink at a charming cafe or bar & watch the world go by. Boat tours offer a unique perspective. Bustling & scenic - a must-see in Copenhagen! #Copenhagen #Nyhavn
This a review for the museum and staff rather than the whole area. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I learned a lot and thank the lady for taking the time. Be aware that the museum only takes cash!
Good tip from the guide- Canon ball in the wall from 1807 look up at Krokodillegade 15 nearby
Also note that currently googlemaps has the museum in the incorrect location. I’ve sent a correction request to move it to Sankt Paulsgade 24

I understand many people seem to like this area, but I personally did not see the appeal. If you want places to walk, there are far better options if I'm being honest.
It was cool to see the older housing and the orange walls popped out pretty well, however, I didn't really enjoy it here. Maybe I missed the historic context, but it just didn't seem all that interesting to me.

Lovely and quiet place to visit and have a walk round the rows of historic yellow houses. Nyboder is a district which was planned and first built by Christian IV to accommodate a need for housing for the personnel of the Royal Danish Navy and their families. The buildings were completed in 1795.
It’s nice to take a walk there it’s very quiet the houses and their layout and colors looked nicer than I thought it’s good to have some perspective on different places and architecture designs
This a historic row house is very pretty. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area. It’s very quiet area so you can enjoy seeing these yellow row house and captures some memories.
