I recently had my first time riding the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and I was blown away by the views! The tram crosses over the East River, giving you stunning 360-degree views of Manhattan and Queens. It was a truly unique experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting New York City.

The tram ride is only a few minutes long, but it's worth every penny. The views are simply incredible, and you can get some great photos from the tram. If you're looking for a unique way to see Manhattan, the Roosevelt Island Tramway is definitely the way to go.

Here are some additional details about my experience:

The tram departs from two stations: one in Manhattan and one on Roosevelt Island.
The fare is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children.
The tram runs every 15 minutes, from 6am to 2am.
There is a wheelchair lift available on the tram.

Loved my first time Tramway experience! Roosevelt island was absolutely beautiful, we rode Citi bikes throughout the island and had a fantastic time doing it. 10/10, highly recommended!

Such a cool ride! Absolutely gorgeous views and a very fun, quick and smooth ride. All for the price of a bus ticket! Can't go wrong. Bring cash to buy a bus ticket, because you can't tap with your phone to get on like the rest of the MTA.

Roosevelt Island is also pretty cool. There's no traffic lights, and there's no garbage trucks. The garbage is sent through an enormous and complex vacuum tube system. That's cool!

Easy and wonderful experience, this is a cheap way to see the beautiful skyline of Manhattan.

You need to use a metro card to get on. They don’t take OMNY. You can get a metro card at any of the self service booths in the subways. It’s $1 for a metro card and if you are only buying a metro card for the tram then load it with $5.50 as it will cover your fare there and back.

I gave a 5 start because the view was wonderful, the station was clean and the process to get in the tram es easy. But it was very hot inside the tram🚊 I think is manageable because is a short distance, but I think they should find a better way to cool the interior.

A really excellent experience. Ride the tram over to Roosevelt Island while taking in breathtaking views of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge which the tramway runs parallel to. You can use your Metro card to pay your fare.

Highly Recommended! The view is stunning! Especially great when the sun goes down. if you already have a MetroCard, the ride is free. It can get a bit crowded at peak times, but no need to stress. just take the next one, runs often enough ;)

This is such a fun and inexpensive activity to do with your kids! It’s just a couple dollars per person each way on the tram (you have to buy the tickets there - can’t use Apple Pay). It runs every 10-15 minutes. The Island has lots of picture ops and if you can catch it when cherry blossoms are in bloom, even better.
