This is a really beautiful area. Heath Hen (access on Trefry Lane - Stow) and Flagg Hill ( access on Windermere Rd - Boxborough) conservation areas connect. There are abundant beautiful wooded trails lined with lush green ferns, open pastures dotted with colorful wildflowers, and paths that wind along ponds filled with blooming water lilies and marshes filled with wildlife. This was actually my first time visiting and I will definitely be back to explore more. It is more buggy in the wetter areas, especially on humid days like today. But with a little bug spray and a brisk pace, they don't bother you too much. Definitely worth a visit, or many visits as the seasons change.

Lots of trails and herd paths, many of them muddy much of the year. Not crowded. Few expansive views. Some trails connect with trails in Boxborough.

Old roads and single track. Not too technical. Pretty second growth forest without a lot of underbrush. Ponds, streams and beaver dam.

Nice hike, trails in good shape and well marked. Be careful in low areas after rains lots of mud on trails.

This Town Conservation Area has parking lots on West Acton Road in Stow and also in Boxboro. It offers great hiking opportunities within an area that is managed to be relatively wild. Trails connect to the Captain Sargent Area/Whitney Fields and also to Heath Hen Meadow Brook Conservation Area, allowing you to stretch out many miles of hiking. ALL dogs must be leashed here, please be considerate and make sure you do this and clean up after your pet. Trail maps are available on the Stow Conservation Commission's webpages.

Great trails, it would be nice if people kept their dogs on leashes.

Hmmmmm. Google thinks flagg hill is in Stowe. But they give a URL for boxburough. Meanwhile, it is actually action. They want my ratings? ,«service» for a neighborhood?
