How come these people are representing Bangladesh!! What do they think about themselves? They talk and behave so rude while maintaining a cheap attitude. They DO NOT know how to respect people and they're just living with those cheap energy. I can't imagine that these people are in America to represent Bangladesh.
I went in at 11.45AM to pick up my passport, and the guy wearing a suit in the reception told me, didn't I know how to read and why I was there before 12 pm? He's like just leave and go outside and wait there!! Come on!! how could you be so rude while sitting in the reception? There is a waiting room and he told me I can't wait there and he can't let too many people in. Ok, I understand, I went there early, but he could have said it nicely. and you don't wanna even imagine how they were talking to some Bangladeshi Citizens, and I assume they made some mistakes with their application.
The bottom line is, THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT FORGET THAT THEY ARE BANGLADESH GOVERNMENT'S SLAVES to serve its people and the nation and this is why they were sent in a mission and getting PAID. Please, for god sake, bring down your attitude & tone. Sorry I couldn't hold it anymore!!

Embarrassed and disappointed with this level of service and behavior. I got a phone call from someone with Horrible attitude about a mistake I made and so I mailed the required documents on the same day but I didn't get any updates or feedback from that for the next 3 weeks. I used their "Express" Delivery which costs 220 $ on september and I was supposed to get delivery within 1 month but on their website it shows the date of issuance after 3 months! I have emailed and called them multiple times but didn't get any response from them whatsoever. Never expected that this is how they treat Bengali students. Just disappointed
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing top-notch service from our embassy during the issuance of my new passport. After my passport was lost by USPS postal service, I reached out to them via email to explain my situation. I was pleasantly surprised by the swift and helpful response I received.
The passport officer demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and efficiency in handling my case. They provided me with appropriate suggestions and guided me through the necessary documentation process. Their prompt response reassured me that I was in capable hands.
While there is room for improvement in the embassy's phone service, the responsiveness via email more than made up for it. Every query was met with thorough and detailed information, leaving no room for ambiguity. This level of transparency and clarity significantly eased the process for me.
Overall, I am genuinely grateful for the exceptional service and support I received from our embassy. Their efficiency and dedication turned what could have been a stressful situation into a smooth and hassle-free experience. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone in need of passport issuance or related assistance. Thank you, our embassy, for going above and beyond!

The personnel at the Embassy of Bangladesh were all very courteous and professional. However, a wait of nearly three months to receive a visa I couldn’t use is the reason for the poor review. This wasn’t the fault of the DC embassy but of bureaucratic inefficiency in Dhaka. They made it impossible to attain a visa in time for my travels to the region.
It was my first going to Bangladesh Embassy Washington DC. I was conducting business with office Ahmedullah Chowdhury and he was very rude short tampered and unhelpful. At one point Mr. Chowdhury start throwing my papers around. Also he was busy on his phone watching videos online front me.
Edited (April 8, 2023): I received my passport yesterday. It took only 11 business days to get the passport. It was an express delivery service. I am very pleased.
Original Post: I went to apply for e-passport. Everything went pretty smooth. Took an hour and half to complete the whole process. The receptionist was really helpful and cooperative.
As long as you bring your application with the necessary documents, everything will be fine without any delay. Make sure you bring the copy of NID. They will ask for the NID number even if you use birth certificate number. I am glad that I had the NID copy with me. I had to write the NID number manually on the application.
The fingerprint and eye scan didn’t take that much of a time. They should put an instruction on how to put your fingers on the scanner, because you need to firmly press your fingers on the scanner in a proper way.

Went there to renew my passport. While the lady at the reception was very cordial and friendly, the overall service experience was a disaster. I had an appointment at 12:48. Went there at 12. But apparently time doesn’t matter here. Had to wait for 3-4 hrs to get my turn. For e-passport it was just a 5minutes work. Waiting time is very long. However I found the staffs were helpful.
