Great service, the host was warm and welcoming, my server Nabil was top notch. I came in for a croque madame at lunchtime and it did not disappoint! The fresh bread basket was delicious (try the cranberry nut bread with the house made butter...omg). Topped it off with coffee and profiteroles ❤️ An absolutely lovely experience!

Are you in the DC area ? This is the place to be!
Went through my album and found these gem videos from a couple months ago. Here’s my take:

I’ve been to a couple of French restaurants in NYC and this has blown those out the water. In terms of price, this was cheaper than NYC like 50% off. As you can see we ordered as much as we could…

The atmosphere was amazing! it felt vintage, high scale and even walking through the door… the smell of fresh bread 🥖

From what I recall, service was great and they were very attentive.

If I were to come back to the area this is probably the first place I’m coming back to, to eat !

We love this place, food is truly amazing and price is reasonable. Service is always impeccable and we always love returning. It is very busy inside and we had dinner outside and their sitting outside on the side street is perfect and much more quiet.

Visited Le Diplomate on a weekend trip and had the most amazing experience! We intended on just stopping in for a quick dessert but were so pleased with the whole experience. Our server (whose name I can’t remember!) was so personable, and funny while also being professional and attentive. We were served immediately with bread (which was delicious) and water for the table. I ordered an espresso martini which was delicious! Tasted like liquid dark chocolate! We decided to order some appetizers and went with the ricotta ravioli and the macaroni, which were both unbelievable. For dessert we ordered the profiteroles which were amazing but the star of the show was the passionfruit tart. I generally don’t like fruit tarts all that much but this was legitimately magical. It was so good we ordered a second and probably would’ve ordered more if we weren’t so full. Besides the food, the ambiance was so lovely. Feels like an authentic french restaurant. Lively atmosphere, busy and bustling in the best way! It was a little bit out of our typical restaurant budget but we all agreed that it was more than worth it and I absolutely would come back. It was the best part of our whole trip.

Like a vibrant Parisian restaurant - half woven bamboo seating with mosaic tiling, half red leather booths and wood-panelled walls. Our server and the bussers were extremely attentive and helpful.

Our server did not miss with his recommendations. The cranberry bread and fresh butter was perfect for starting the meal. The shrimps on the warm shrimp salad tasted like lobster. The almond trout was buttery and crunchy. The profiteroles, with the homemade banana vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate sauce was truly decadent. And somehow the profiteroles maintained a light crisp exterior. Wonderful experience - would definitely come back!

Took my family here to celebrate my wife’s promotion. The food is good, the atmosphere is great. Our server Christopher is awesome. Very professional and attentive. Knows the menu well. Gave good advice on the menu.

I made a reservation and came in right when they opened. They offer us a table outdoors in direct sunlight. my wife requested another spot as it will be hot, they tried to move us to the other side outdoors where the area was still being swept while there were plenty of available seating inside. The front desk never asked us for any seating preference. Just didn’t understand why they thought it was a good idea to sit us under the sun. only reason for the 4 star.

Came here on a Monday afternoon and got seated immediately. The bread was slightly burned but the parts around were delicious. The charcuterie was good, but a little salty. The shrimp from the salad (and the buttery sauce) was the highlight of the meal. It was one of the dishes the waiter recommended and we would as well. The steak was cooked exactly to the right temperature, and dipped in the butter sauce from the shrimp salad was a great combo. The waiters were walking around often to see what we needed, so service was great. Definitely recommend a stop!

Excellent spot, one of DC’s nicest restaurants. A super pleasant experience with extremely knowledgeable and kind staff ready to help you make food and drink decisions. Highly recommend asking for Nabil as you waiter, he went over the top and made the night feel so personal.

The food (don’t fill up on that butter and bread even though it’s so good) is fabulous. The escargot was delicious and oven baked sizzling hot. The steak was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and very well priced.

The drinks were also tasty and not overpriced. Absolutely get the Profiteroles, it’s made in house and I absolutely believe it. Already excited to come back and try something new from their menu.
