Decidedly a tourist’s destination restaurant, the staff was nice, and I cannot stress this enough: THE VIEWS CANNOT BE BEAT. I went just after sunset, and it was surreal. The food is just ok, but reasonably priced. The Beer selection is limited, but delicious.
Great atmosphere and outstanding location. We really enjoyed the sunset view and the whole vibe. The restaurant is clean and the food is good and reasonable.
We got an iced coffee latte, beer and lemon basil gnocchi. The latte was probably by far the worst coffee I’ve had in Switzerland. It lacked flavor and texture was bad too. The lemon basil gnocchi was amazing though. The sauce is not too creamy with a strong lemon flavor. The garnish on the top is a potato chip. They also give you complimentary rye bread, but it wasn’t heated or had butter/ oil for dipping.
The view was amazing. Supposedly, a lot of the tables with the best views were “reserved”… they weren’t taken by the time we finished so it was very questionable. The staff does their job, but they’re neither happy or angry. Seems like they’re just going through the motions.

I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dinner with a view! I definitely recommend making a reservation as it is always packed. I tried to reserve a table closest to the city view but was unable to. Totally fine because you can still see the city from far. The food was good, staff was friendly, and price was expensive but expected for the location.
Great spot for sunset in Bern with good value for money. We had the sausage with vegetables and the Turkish platter with hummus and other dips. The waiter Sebastian was amazing, very friendly and fast. We will come back!
This is a good place overlooking Bern from above.
Be careful, it's very touristic, so it's better to book your table in advance. Also, the parking lot is too small and there is a high chance of staying without any.
The cuisine is okay, but the service is slow.
The view to Bern is wonderful though. You can also visit the charming park Rosengarten - it's really beautiful and deserves a visit.

Our visit to Rosengarten, perched atop a hill with a stunning garden in front, promised an enchanting experience. Although we couldn’t secure an outdoor seat without a reservation, the restaurant’s interior ambiance was still pleasant. After dinner, we ventured outside and were captivated by the awe-inspiring views of Bern city.
The mains we tried offered a mix of delightful surprises and mediocre outcomes.
The Pork Chops with Herbal Crust, accompanied by a luscious port wine jus, baby potatoes, and vegetables, stole the show. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender, and paired harmoniously with the rich and savory sauce. A definite must-try that left a lasting impression.
On the other hand, the Grilled Chicken Breast with Rocket Salad and Tomato-Bruschetta was somewhat lackluster. The meat was slightly tough, and the overall dish fell into the realm of mediocrity.
Similarly, the Seared Trout Fillet with Homemade Salsa Verde, Potatoes, and Vegetables left us with mixed feelings. The fish itself was fresh, but the salsa verde sauce might not be to everyone’s taste, making it an average choice.
For those who enjoy pasta dishes, the Basil Potato Gnocchi with Bocconicini-Mozzarella and Creamy Lemon Sauce offered a delectable treat. Its flavorsome combination and easy-to-eat nature make it another dish worth trying.
Without a doubt, the highlight of Rosengarten is the breathtaking view of Bern city from the restaurant’s surroundings. Taking a post-dinner walk outside to soak in the scenic beauty made the dining experience even more memorable.
In summary, Rosengarten’s ambiance and the heavenly Pork Chops with Herbal Crust make it a place worth visiting. While some dishes might fall into the average category, the overall experience, coupled with the restaurant’s beautiful setting, makes it a destination to cherish. Next time, I’ll make sure to book a table outdoors to fully embrace the enchanting views while savoring their outstanding dishes.

The picturesque photos said it all. The cold roast beef surprisingly went very well with the dry white. The chilled tomato soup as a starter also let me rediscover tomato soup with that hint of chillies taste was just good for clearing the platelets for the main course.
Amazing food next to a beautiful view of Bern. The service was also very good. Even though it is located in such a beautiful setting the prices are relatively cheap. Would definitely recommend.
We were able to enjoy a meal here even without a reservation and the staff was very accommodating. The view (even from inside) is stunning, the service is wonderful and the food was nice as well.
Absolutely recommend! The view alone makes it all worthwhile but our dishes were also delicious. Definitely a great way to make the most of your day in Bern!
A fabulous dining spot in top of Bern city and the interior and exterior milieu are fabulous. An excellent place to take a date or friends for a nice meal. Prices are decent for Bern standards and food quality is good. Staff can speak multiple languages and quite customer friendly and nice. Recommend trying out the restaurant experience.
Nice view, but the breakfast proportion was small. We shared two big breakfasts between four, and they charged us 5CHF per plate
