There are quite a few monuments scattered around the Dupont Circle neighbourhood including the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial situated in the small green space found at the intersection of Q. St. NW, Massachusetts NW. and 21st Street., just in front of the India Embassy.
This is a life sized bronze of Gandhi, who is consider the Father of the nation (India) and spiritual leader who played a major role in India's pursuit of independence from the British Empire.
Here you see elderly Gandhi, dressed in sandals and covered in basic cloth, a common image of Gandhi from his later years of life. His walking with the aid of a walking stick and looks fatigued. If you get close, you can see the age in his hands and upper body. Gandhi is standing on a granite base with engraving and information about the statue.
If you are in Dupont Circle and browsing the neighbourhood, this is a neat statue to find. It is very near to the Philips Collection and the Anderson House and can be conveniently seen before or after these attractions.

This is a great memorial. It has a couple benches so you can take a break and enjoy the sculpture. The details on the statue are great it is really one of the best done statues in the city. But trust me if you are walking embassy row use these benches to take a rest and plan the rest of your walk you won't see many more.
The Gandhi Statue is a tiny park in NW DC in Dupont Circle close to The Phillips Collection. There are two benches you can reflect on. Other than that, that's it!
Fine statue as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and is located in a square right opposite the Indian embassy..
Very small and great looking park. The Gandhi statue is very detailed and very impressive. It stands low enough were you can really get a good look at it and is subject to some great photos. The park also has a lot of literature engraved on it which is a very nice detail that will definitely keep you informed. I wish all parks were like this.
