You should definitely take the cable car. very beautiful view.
The cabins were large and clean

Impressive views! We took a “crystal” cabin but don’t think it added better views (kids thought it was fun, though). 94 degrees F with 60% humidity was tolerable with good cloud cover.

Well laid out station, conveniently located near the MRT station and with a lane out front for taxi/car pickups. The staff is helpful and there are some cute photo booths on the 2nd/3rd floors. Note that EasyPass can be used to take the gondola, but other cards like iCash are not accepted. There are machines outside as well as on the 4th floor to purchase paper tickets, and you can use iCash/iPass on those. Note that Taiwan residents with their Taiwan ID get a discount so their tickets are 50NT. Regular price is 120NT on the weekends, and on weekdays it is 100NT if you are using an EasyPass. If you need to purchase from the machine it is always 120NT. Also note there are two different lines for crystal (clear bottom) gondolas and regular ones. Crystal gondolas seat 5, regular ones seat 8. The wait for a regular one will only be a few mins, but for a crystal one it may take longer since they don't come as frequently so you need to queue. The view from the crystal gondola is best during the daytime!

a thrill experience to ride a gondola (cable car), especially one with a glass floor. however, you have to wait longer to ride this one.
the scenery around is incredible.

Never get to try... Just got to know that it is closed every Monday for maintenance.... So sad.. Taxi uncle mentioned that we can still go up to teahouse by car..

La vue des cabines est agreable et l'ambiance de la forêt monte jusqu'à nous (du moins les bruits...).
Le tarifs est de 120 $ jusqu'au sommet. Possible par la carte de métro ce qui évite de se battre avec les machines à tickets indisgeste ! Ce qui permet aussi de monter directement au 4eme sans faire la queue avant...
Par contre vous aurez le choix entre les cabines cristal (juste le sol qui est en verre, le reste est comme les autres cabines à certains endroits recouvertes de publicité en film semi transparent... pas cool pour la vue en restant assis) et les cabines standard. Pour les cristal vous devrez patienter car la file est longue et les cabines transparentes plus rares...
A noter le manque de climatisation dans les cabines. Mais avec l'altitude l'air "frais" rentre un peu par les fenêtres ouvertes...

We used this station to get on the gondola to Maokong. We went through using the Taipei day pass with the gondola. We went up on the eyes of Maokong gondola, which had a glass floor. It was interesting heading up the mountain with all the greenery below you. After passing a few stations we ended up at the Maokong Station at the top. The Zhinan temple stop before the top is a good one to look around if you have the time.

The carts are clean and the ride is smooth. It is amazing to zoom several hundred feet above the jungle while looking out at the city. Just a great spectical. You can choose between a "crystal" cart or a regular, the difference is the crystal carts have a see through floor. Definitely get one of these if you can. However, the weight limit is less so if you have a large group or family you might have to take a regular cart. Tickets are purchased as a one way and you can use your metro ez card if you have one.
