No other ramen place will give you such thick slice of charsu than Taishoken! And depends what you order, you may have two slices of those! All 3 dishes we tried have super rich and umami broths. The noodles are house made and they are cooked to perfect doness. Their chicken karage is a must try too.

Admission free Japanese Garden in the heart of San Mateo city! Although it is tiny it is very well maintained and most people respect the "stay on path" signs. Great for portrait pictures and it is just beautiful to walk around in!
