Kedai Kopi Pak Hock Famous Chicken Rice
This place is a hidden gem that serves great chicken with rice with great value for money. Having been disappointed by the tourist traps (average but expensive food) at Kimberly Street, I discovered this little eatery and went there for brunch. I was a little skeptical when I found no customers inside at 10am, but as soon as I sat down, the locals started to come and formed a queue for takeaways.
The chicken was smooth, tender and flavourful but the rice is not as fragrant as I have expected. What I love most was their marinated chicken liver!!!! If you like organs, you have to come because it's as creamy as foie gras but the marinate sauce removes the greasiness so it's just perfect!!!!
I'd prefer their dark chicken for its stronger aroma. Their white chicken is good too but the marinate sauce on top makes it difficult to taste the genuine flavour of chicken.
