Love this place! Park in Johnson Park. Nice forest with some little hills. Tons of well marked trails. I see pretty blue birds and deer here all the time. Great way to spend the afternoon and escape nature. This place is beautiful and quiet in all seasons. I also recommend Rutgers Gardens/Helyar Woods and Finderne Wetlands.
So many animals! I saw many different deer, heron, all kinds of birds, and got some wonderful pictures. The trails are beautiful and well maintained and it's a large area that takes a while to explore. Went 90 mins before sunset and stayed til just after sunset. Highly recommend and will be back.

Edit: do not go after heavy rain. There is lots of flooding and it's hard to get through some trails. Still love this place tho!

Edit: wonderful in the snow! So many tracks. And so many birds.

This park is huge and nice to walk in! Lots of people really take advantage of the amenities such as sports fields, playground, tennis courts, walking paths. Often beautiful evening skies here by the way!
Very cool place. I went midweek during the day and didn't see many people. I found the boulders very interesting. There is a direct path to the viewpoint which is the way we went down. Could not see NYC but was a great view of new Brunswick and opportunity to test the 30x zoom on my Pixel 7 Pro. Plenty of parking
Beautiful, we took the red trail and then the white trail. After the Lambs Hill summit and to get to a lovely panoramic view that was marked on our Gaia GPS app, and then descended a different trail. Very quiet trail, only 5 cars or so in the parking lot on a cool, cloudy day Sunday in Mid November. Was slippy with the leaves and lots of rocks, steep at times, but an amazing time. Exploring Beacon after was lots of fun
