This Fountain used to be in a much better location at the North end of Victoria Square, where the water toy is now located.
I clearly remember seeing it when it was switched on by the Duke of Edinburgh in May 1968. That was a proud day.
It’s at its best when all jets are on at full blast, rather than just running at a trickle.

From the square go for a shady walk down Gordon Street towards the Beach and you will find that the Trees have an artistic language all of their own.
