I really wanted to love this place. Or was very hyped up for me. We made a reservation on weeknight and told them we were celebrating 3 birthdays. It was very empty. We sat outside, there were probably 5 other parties. Lots of the staff is just chilling because there's not much to do. Very empty and quiet. The menu is exciting mix of Japanese and French with some Nola flair.

We asked the staff for recommendations because we were going to share several plates so we can try a few things. We were sold on the large plates and wanted to try the chicken stew. Coq au Riesling.

The dishes came out slow. Ironically the cheese plate we ordered didn't come out first, instead it came out last. Then the waiter asked if we wanted dessert. But wait our Coq au Riesling never came. He went to the kitchen, can't out and admitted the kitchen forgot but then also said it might have gone to another table. Wonderful. The one dish the birthday folk at the table were looking fwd to. They offered to still cook it but most of the staff were leaving for the day. We didn't want to be an issue. We told them to cancel it. They offered free dessert. We took them up on it.

It was supposed to be a special 3 way birthday dinner but it kindve fell flat. But at over $50 a person on a quiet night at a nice restaurant, I was kindve let down.

Some dish highlights were the steak and the tempura cauliflower.

The entrance is really hard to find. Look for the large green wall and there's a faded n7 sign. Be careful where you park and what you leave in the car. The neighborhood isn't the safest.

Beautiful. But ruined by the sheer amount of people jammed into the area. You can rent boats on the north side
A cafe with cheap cheap decent tasting coffee. The reason you would come here is if you're a smoker. They allow you to smoke indoors. Every order comes with an ashtray.

Free, with a security bag check and metal detector. The guards are so nice and tell you what areas are interesting to see. Worth a visit if you're into architecture. If you go on a rainy day, there's a good chance you'll have the entire place to yourself :)
Nice location with plenty of seating. But the employee opened over 40 minutes late. Many people were waiting outside. Their sign says they open at 8am on the weekend but they opened 40 minutes late. The employee let one man in but not the rest of us. When the employee finally opened the door he gave the customer inside a free coffee because "he waited forever". But he waited just as long as the rest of us...

It's a shame. I am a huge fan of la colombe and was excited about going to a physical location for the first time. But this was a really terribly experience. Also it was pouring rain while we waited for this employee 🙃
