I’ve lived on the UWS for many years and always really appreciated having Tip Top in my ‘hood. But because of a shockingly unprofessional experience with a saleswoman I have written off your store. She asked me if I needed help and then proceeded to say that she only liked to help people who had “the kind of energy” she liked. The insinuation was obvious. Since when do customers coming to buy shoes in your store have to put up with verbally abusive salespeople? Completely unacceptable. By the way, I stuck with my mission of finding a much needed new pair of shoes and she begrudgingly did bring me many to try on and I bought a pair. But you’ll never see me or my money again. So disappointing for a landmark business on my beloved West 72nd street. Or is this what female-to-female ageism looks like?
