The Wild Center
The Wild Center is a natural history museum located in Tupper Lake, NY. The museum offers both a variety of educational indoor interactive displays and outdoor recreational activities. The museum does a good job showing the joys of the Adirondacks including animal wildlife, hiking, and water sports. The museum has it's own set of hiking trails and "the Wild Walk" which a journey into the treetops, with nice views of the surrounding scenery. The best part of this museum is their holiday lights or "Wild Lights" display.
The holiday lights display goes from late November until early February. The museum decorates the "Wild Walk": and some of their hiking trails with beautiful holiday lights. Their light displays are hard to find anywhere else, and are a must see during the holidays! If you have no interest the museum, the lights are worth the price of admission.
During the year the hiking trails are fairly easy to do and provide a nice escape. The Wild Center is a good place to get an introduction to Adirondack recreational activities. Currier Museum of Art
The Currier Museum of Art is a nice small art museum that offers a lot. The museum has works by renowned artists such as Monet, Hopper, Cole, Homer, and Wyeth. There are also traveling exhibits and a nice collection of contemporary art. What sets the museum apart are its tours of its two Frank Lloyd Wright designed houses.
The two houses are the Zimmerman House and The Kalil House are the only two Frank Lloyd Wright houses built in New England. The museum puts together a nice tour of the houses led by volunteer docents. The tours present the history of the houses and the architectural ideas and genius of Frank Lloyd Wright. The Zimmerman House is probably the better of the two houses. However, at the Kalil House you can actually use the furniture and touch different objects in the house. This is unique for most houses designed by Wright, as at most other houses you cannot do this. Both houses were designed by Wright in his later career. Photography is allowed at both houses as well.

Hudson River Maritime Museum
The Hudson River Maritime Museum displays a wonderful collection of maritime history in Kingston, NY. The maritime history it covers spans from the Native Americans to now. The museum is easy to find on the waterfront and also has cruises on a solar powered boat called Solaris.
The museum has many marine craft of all kinds ranging from canoes, fishing vessels, sloops, iceboats,, parts of steamships, and even a full tugboat directly outside the museum. There are excellent displays presented, as well as models of many ships that made voyages on the Hudson. The exhibits about life in a lighthouse are also very good. In all, every part of Hudson River history is well presented.
It is easy to spend over an hour here taking in all the different displays. The exhibit Hudson River iceboats may be the most interesting. Be sure to look around outside the museum as well, the tugboat must be seen. The museum’s gift shop offers many books about local history as well as museum merchandise. Most items in the giftshop are reasonably priced. If you want to go on the cruise you should book a ticket ahead of time. If just going to the museum it is easy to just walk in and buy a ticket. Hadley Bow Bridge
The Hadley Bow Bridge is a great historic and scenic spot in Hadley, NY. The Bow Bridge is the only parabolic bridge in the state of New York. The bridge dates back to the 19th Century and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The scenery around the bridge is magnificent. It is nice to sit and view and listen to the rapids below. The gazebo in the park adds a nice touch to the area. Although there is nothing prohibiting walking over the bridge, it is advisable and safer to stay in the park. Traffic on the bridge is restricted to a single lane.
The parking lot has room for about 5 cars. There is room in the lost most of the time if you want to see the area. Stop by and see great piece of history and enjoy the scenery.

McCann Arena
McCann Arena is home to the Marist Red Foxes men’s and women’s basketball teams. It is a nice little stadium to enjoy a game. The stadium seating is very good and there are excellent sightlines especially along the sides of the court. The beauty of the arena is that you are never that far away from the action.
The arena was renovated in 2011 and has a modern feel to it. The scoreboards are located in the corners of the arena, which is different from most other arenas. There are many family friendly entertainment games during halftimes and timeout to entertain the crowd. The sound system in the arena is pretty good. Concessions are available at the game. Concession prices are moderate by stadium standards. There is also a team store located inside the arena. It is best to purchase tickets online ahead of time.

For the 2023-24 season tickets are $13.00. For most games you can sit very close to the court in a chair back seat. The capacity of the arena is set at 5,000, but rarely do that many show up.
