Nice little independent cafe in Bedok. Quite a rare find amongst HDB blocks, markets and kopitiams.

Tried this on a weekday morning. The space in the outlet is small, and the cafe was quite full but we managed to find a table for two. Due to the lack of space, you'll need to pick up the menu from the counter and order there.

We tried the following -

1) Curry Egg Mayo Croissant Sandwich - Flaky croissant bread, not too crumbly. Liked the curry egg mayo combo.

2) Smoked Duck & Mala Soba - Such a refreshing introduction to a cafe menu. I like experimenting and this was not the usual run-of-the-mill dishes you find in a cafe. With an Asian twist, the mala noodles goes really well with the smoked duck. Topped up with peanuts and mushrooms, this was delightful.

3) Mocha - Nice strong & chocolatey.

4) Filter coffee -Tried their filter coffee. I generally like my filter coffee with a shot of milk and sugar to even the taste slightly. This was a medium-dark roast, and was a bit on the stronger side.

Radhe Shyam was a regular joint when my office was in Lower Parel. It serves only vegetarian food, and is located right below the flyover, convenient to all the Peninsula buildings.

The food here is pretty run-of-the-mill lunch stuff, and a good place if you're looking to save some cash towards the end of the month. A must try here is the puri-bhaji. The aamras is pretty awesome too, and I would really recommend that as well.

I have been disappointed by their naans and sabzi's in the past, so avoid if possible. Service is quick even at busy lunch hours, and the staff isn't the friendliest. Overall, the place gets a 4.

Nice spacious coffee shop with quite a few eating options.

We tried the samosa chaat for $6 from Manasa La Tandoor. It wasn’t very warm, but it was good and satiated our Indian chaat cravings. Comes sprinkled with chana masala (chickpeas), sev and boondi.

We washed it down with Milo & Kopi-c. Good strong kopi.

I was looking for a comfortable lunch spot for 6 folks for our company’s Diwali lunch and narrowed down on Yarana.

This is a nice Indian restaurant with a variety of dishes. What I liked is it not only focused on commercial North Indian dishes, but has some good South Indian fish & chicken delicacies too.

We ordered the following -

1) Delhi ke seekh kabab - Soft delicious lamb kebabs with a nice not-so-spicy chutney.

2) Chicken Kondattam - A South Indian fried chicken with crispy onions garlic and curry leaves. Really liked this.

3) Malabar Fish Cutlet - this one was ok, didn’t really get the Malabar flavour. It was crunchy and served with ketchup.

4) Mutton Rogan Josh - Delicious lamb gravy. Mutton was soft and tender.

5) Murg Tikka Butter Masala - Creamy butter based gravy. Soft chicken pieces.

6) Navratan Vegetable Korma - on the sweeter side, generous with the garnishing of dry fruits.

7) Mango Lassi - Pretty good mango lassi, though I have to say slightly expensive at $8.

8) Masala Papad - Crispy tasty papad, but I wish they didn’t serve the garnishing separately.

Overall, this is a good place for an Indian lunch/dinner.

Service was ok - they mixed up the bill and ran out of spiced lassi.

Sweetest little aunty selling Apom in Chulia Street. It’s a little dosa (appam) and is crispy.

Not a steady stream of customers, so you should get your order in a couple of minutes.
