Such a wonderful place to visit to get a nice view of the sunrise coming behind NYC. In this case the sun is actually rising to right of NYC from this location. Still it lights up the city very nicely. When I went it was low clouds covering the city and I was able to get some nice hazy photos of the glowing orange sky.

What everyone else says, it's a great view of the skyline and of the sunrise. The sunrise is literally dead center to this pier. Come on down and enjoy the view with everyone else. The place looks better during sunrise. I went midday but it's just not the same during the sunrise.

The overlook itself is nice but there are no markings showing its location.

Also the location of the overlook on the map is wrong, also this patriot path that's on google maps is not real, it doesn't match with any of the paths. So if your looking for the overlook don't use Google maps to help you because patriot path is actually just you cutting through the woods.
