Oakland Cemetery

Been coming to this cemetery for quite some time now and I still haven’t really seen the whole area. I usually come here for the quiet atmosphere to catch up on reading or to get a glimpse of history. It’s open from sunrise to sunset with a tour guide and visitors shop at the Bell Tower. One of the largest cemetery I’ve been to. There’s plenty of events here that goes on year round.
Any Publix always beats the ambiance & customer friendliness of any other household local grocery store staple. The atmosphere is always seems so simple yet homie. I stopped by here for a quick bite after attending a Tuesday mass in walking distance of a Catholic Church. There’s a seating area provided for customers & employees, where I sat, ate, & recharged.
Had reserved a free pass from the Gwinnett County Public Library. Atlanta History Museum was available for use in 7 days & one renewal. I had to make a trip plan by figuring out the Gwinnett County transit along with the Marta Train. Had to commute to Atlanta twice to tour Atlanta History Museum. 33 acre of land including the Swan House, the museum, farm area, and parks. Theres plenty of tour guides in the area ready to answer any question. The three times I was here, wedding rehearsals were going on. Theres a cafe for coffee. Plenty of sight seeing available. Planning ahead was a must for me but so well worth it.
East Shadowlawn Memorial Garden is a cemetery located within Downtown Historic Lawrenceville. I’ve explored the area two years ago after running errands in the Gwinnett County government & courts area. Its one of the larger burial sites that I’ve across in the County of Gwinnett. Very interesting, peaceful, & full of history. The growing population of Gwinnett drives me here when the Quite Library of Lawrenceville is over crowded by patrons. I actually get the peace of mind I need from the quietness of the cemetery to catch up on reading, drawing, journaling, & reflection of the day.
Historic Lawrenceville Cemetery is located within Historic Downtown Cemetery. I stumbled upon this area two years ago running errands at Gwinnett County Court House & Government offices. I purchased ice cream from the Dairy Queen within walking distance & decided to tour the neat cemetery. Its located in what it seem a senior living area. The gate was open & right across the street is Eastshadow Lawn Memorial Garden & Chapel Mausoleum. A very peaceful place to reflect & catch up on some reading once it gets too crowded at the Downtown area.
