This is the North shore of Chicago's only place that I have found that has attempted to bring in modern sushi options. Novikov/Komodo/Osaka and many others in Miami, NYC, Downtown Chicago, you can expect these options. Now we have a portion of it on the North Shore.

Their food is all around good. The stars of their menu are their Nigiri. 2 bites of some interesting combinations. The Wagyu pieces were delicious, but in my opinion, the simplicity of the Ikura with a quail egg yolk was sublime. I could eat just a plate of those.

We had a couple of their rolls, which were good. We also had a bottle of Sake, which they had a nice selection of.

I think we found our new favorite sushi place!
501 Local

My wife and I had our first experience at 501 Local this evening. I can say the food and Patio were great, but the service was just not good. I really can't sugar-coat it, our server was not competent.

Other than waiting a ton of time for drinks, which we didn't get our first round until after the first-course, everything else was good.

We had the Cucumber-yogurt gazpacho first, which was very delicious. We had the pot stickers as our second course. They were delicious and served with the bok choy, made them truly different. For our mains, we had the Turkey burger and the lobster ravioli. The Lobster ravioli was amazing! The Homard L'americaine sauce was spot on and the filling was 90% lobster meat.

The ambience is great and the patio is a wonderful place to sit on a beautiful evening.

I believe we will be returning again for the delicious food and ambience.
Tocco

We dined at Tocco last night in Wilmette for the first time. We used to go to Tocco all the time when Bruno had his Fulton Market location. We used go about once every two-weeks. It's nice to see him continue on.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and their outdoor dining area was really nice. It was a beautiful evening and perfect for outdoor dining. The restaurant itself is very pretty. Modern, yet warm and welcoming, but obviously, we chose to sit outside.

The service was good. They were very busy, but our server and her staff were pretty much on point.

The food was pretty delicious. We had the Prosciutto/Buratta focaccia and the Braseola for our appetizer course. The focaccia was wonderful. In the middle, I had the salad of fennel and almonds in a lemon vinaigrette, which was amazing. The mains were also good, I had the carbonara with their homemade papardelle pasta. My wife and one of our friends had the Papardelle with sausage. Our other friend has the Branzino. All the mais were delicious.

I guess my biggest problem with Tocco were the prices. The wine and cocktail list is extremely expensive for what they were serving. $18 dollars for a negroni, especially when they aren't using a good vermouth is kind of rediculous. We paid $120/bottle for a nice white, but was not worth the cost. The rest of their list was nice but very expensive for anything interesting. The food is also expensive for what you get.

In my opinion, I think they are trying to charge Cipriani prices for nowhere near the quality and service of the aforementioned restaurant.

I will probably be back because of the location and the atmosphere is wonderful sitting outside.
A good, low volume lounge. Unfortunately, this Polaris lounge, didn't have the best service in the restaurant. While waiting a while for my food, wanting to order a drink, the staff was just chilling.

It's large, clean, and a good place to relax before or after a long flight. Not the best of the Polaris lounge locations in my opinion sadly to say.
