Came here for the Lunar New Year celebration. A great venue for such an important event. There were so many local vendors selling unique products too.

This is a big restaurant with plenty of seating indoor only. My party came during lunch and it wasn’t crowded. We got a table immediately.

There were so many options to choose from the menu. There was a limited happy hour menu too whole every Saturday and Sunday. Some food we ordered were tiger eye maki, crunchy maki, kamikaze maki, s & m maki, Mardi Gras maki, Miyako special maki, scallop nigiri, and unagi nigiri. We also had the happy hour drinks; son of a peach, lemon drop, candy crush, and water my melon. All our rolls were great. We had no complaints, only praises for the delicious food. The drinks were good too but mine weren’t strong enough. My drinks tasted kinda watered down.

We received excellent service today. Our waitress kept checking on us, and she serviced with a smile. Parking isn’t an issue here since there is a big parking lot at the front. There is additional parking at the back of the strip mall too. I will come back again.
The discovery center is of a decent play size which could be explored in 3hrs. After the elevator ride, there is a small ride where kids and adults use laser guns to shoot characters on screens. Bags have to be placed on the hooks available or there are lockers to place valuables at the price of a quarter.

After the ride, there is a huge display of San Antonio city in LEGO bricks. The night view is as pretty as the day view. There are some interactive LEGO displays too.

Walk further in will be a big floor plan of a playground, cafe, creative workshop, 4D ride, kiddie plane ride, an area for toddler play, and areas for older kids to build and test out their LEGO builds.

There are plenty of seatings for adults to rest while watching the kids play. The layout of the center is well thought of.

After all the playing, enjoy shopping at the LEGO store. There have LEGO sets, keychains, stuff toys, and more. Kids and adults would be able to find something they like in the store.

I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Check out their website often for deals. I got the gift tickets for the same price as the timed tickets. The gift tickets allow customers to enter at any time and any day. There is less pressure as compared to timed tickets.

This semi-posh restaurant is located in a hotel at downtown. There are two levels in the restaurant. The first level has a pretty big dining area with the bar located in the middle of the first floor. The second level is a cozy area with some tables and chairs. The restaurant has a romantic vibe with the dim lighting.

Despite not having a reservation, I got a table at the second level. Service staff was attentive, and food was served pretty fast. I came here for a light supper. I had the pan-seared diver scallops, teriyaki beef skewers, chocolate chip bread pudding, and a glass of Blood and Sand. The Blood and Sand had the right amount of alcohol. It was perfect. The teriyaki beef skewers were a little chewy but they were seasoned well. The scallops were big, sweet, seared to a nice color, and cooked perfectly. The purée and the peperonata complemented the scallops. Both the scallops and skewers were served slightly under room temperature. It would be great if the dishes were slightly warmer. The chocolate chip bread pudding was sweet and served hot. It was a good dish to end the meal.

Overall I had a great dining experience.
Located at the corner of a strip mall, this dessert shop (I wouldn’t call it a bakery because they do not sell bread) sells a small number of desserts with many different flavors. They have 7 different flavors of cupcakes, 10 different flavors of choux, 7 different flavors of macarons, and other miscellaneous desserts.

I had the vanilla cupcake, chocolate tart, pavlova, Napoleon Mille Feuille, and 4 different flavors of choux (black sesame, matcha, mango, and pistachio raspberry). The vanilla cupcake was good. It was soft and fluffy. The cream wasn’t too sweet. The chocolate tart filling was semi-sweet which was good. The tart shell was baked well too. However, the tart was destroyed by the dollops of chocolate cream on top. There wasn’t a need to cover a good chocolate tart with whipped cream. The pavlova was sweet as it should be, but it wasn’t airy enough. Again, it was ruined by the tall amount of whipped cream on top. Some whipped cream is fine, but the chef overdid it. Pavlova isn’t originated from France by the way. The Napoleon Mille Feuille shouldn’t be called a Mille Feuille. The pastry was merely a heap of whipped cream with bits of strawberries and blueberries encased in a puff pastry. The puff pastry was crispy and flaky, but there wasn’t much lamination. There was way too much cream which was not proportionate to the amount of puff pastry. The 4 choux pastries were slightly over baked. The color was too dark, and they were crispy instead of soft. However, the choux pastries were filled nicely with no empty pockets. The fillings were great. Love the black sesame filling that had the bitter taste, which was authentic. The matcha filling was delicious too. Matcha tasted bitter with slight sweetness. As for the mango, and pistachio raspberry flavors, they were just ok.

Service was meh. The staff didn’t know a good way to box the desserts. Initially she put all the desserts into one big box without any dividers even though I asked for it. After seeing all my cream pastries touching each other, I had to ask the staff to separate the desserts into individual boxes.

No thank you Desseire.
