Consulate General of Romania in Manchester

Unbelievable, The staff stole my passport and are not giving it back. Please don't leave your valuables there as they might sell it on black market oje my passport. However it's normal for an Eastern European country.

I don't understand how people can be so rude! Called them to ask some information about picking up my daughter's passport and this lady on the phone was literally screaming at me, didn't ask me any information so she can look into it, then told me that the passport will arrive next week and put the phone down on me. How can she possibly know what I was on about without asking me anything is beyond me! Absolute joke of a customer service!

Worst customer experience ever. The lady who was "helping us" was very rude. Because we are not from Romania but we apply for Romania passports, the lady who was meant to help us was treating us differently from other people. I am really dissapointed that I didn't ask her name so you could avoid her in the future.

The worst place to go, and especially for the people that are travelling from a longer distance with their family.
I have applied before for my older daughter for an passport, with all the required documents at the Edinburgh consulate which are doing a great service, as they have been able at that time to give me the birth certificate straight away, which in this place the staff is very unhelpful and not willing to help the people.
There is not an order to be followed, like appointment wise people are just jumping in front of the queue, and the security person from the 2nd floor, is very unprofessional with such-lack of information.
Shame, shame, shame very embarrassing.

Had my children's passport renewal. I am Romanian myself and know how the system can be so I took extra documents with me just in case (eg marriage certificate) and indeed I was asked for it. I also took cash....just in case and again I was told cash only. Really friendly staff, waiting time no more than 10 minutes and I was then told my husband had to be also present at the appointment. A special mention and huge thanks to Miss Oana Selaru who attended to us. She went on and processed everything whilst my husband was on his way so we didn't have to wait any further and again attended to us straight away when he arrived. I can understand the frustration of the staff particularly when people just show up with no appointment and no documentation, start shouting and being rude and also expect to be sorted! Hats down to the team! Many thanks again.

I don't know how everyone else's experience with them was, but mine and my wife's was very positive. They moved fast even though we were late at our appointment, the lady who helped us was kind and professional. We stood there for a total of 30 minutes maximum to renew our passports. Great job!

I had a visa appointment at this Consulate. Was greeted by a polite security person. I arrived on time for my appointment as stated in the email. The consulate doesn’t have parking but there are plenty of parking options in the area.
My appointment went as per schedule. The staff who showed me in for my appointment was friendly.
Special mention of the lovely gentleman at counter number 9 (sorry I forgot to ask his name) he is a gem of a person. Helped me even when I forgot a document. We had a little chat about how beautiful Romnia as a country is and he even gave me some travel ideas next time I am there.
Overall had a pleasant experience.

Worst experience ever. Had an unpleasant meeting with Mr Marius who had no respect. The appointment are not respected and people without appointment just go in front of other appointments. And the biggest surprise is that you need to pay cash. The entrance looks bad and ignored. I pretend from a EU country to respect them people and take care of the place.
