Avra Rockefeller Center

The Avra Rockefeller Center is an amazing and a top quality restaurant that provides guests with superb Greek style dishes and impeccable service.

In September of 2023, I brought and treated my wife and myself to dinner at Avra to celebrate her birthday!!! We very much enjoyed our dining experience.

Both my wife and I were quite impressed with the restaurant’s highly elegant and polished setting, its relaxed ambiance, and the welcoming treatment that we received from the staff.

Our server, Mauricio H. provided us with first class service. He was very courteous and polite, was quite adept on the menu options, promptly addressed all of our inquiries and did a great job on documenting our orders.

Both my and I absolutely enjoyed our meals!!! It was perfectly cooked, seasoned and unquestionably delicious!!! It was also quite satisfying!!!

For our entrees, my wife ordered and loved her lobster pasta meal, while I ordered and found my lamb chop entree to be amazing!!!

The other great attributes of Avra Rockefeller Center is that it is nestled in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, and is minutes away near numerous attractions ranging from the Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, St Patrick’s Cathedral and multiple Broadway Theaters!!!

My wife and I very much enjoyed celebrating her birthday at Avra Rockefeller and we highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this magnificent cuisine!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Azra. Initially, we were told no tables were available, but there was space at the bar. (We did not have reservations.) We searched for a restaurant with table seating, and as we were about to leave, Dimitri let us know a table had opened. He ensured we had the best service, even making dinner recommendation for the Chilean sea bass. We ended the experience with a wonderful dessert wine. YUM!

I like the freshness of ingredients and variety of seafood. I like the Dover sole, roasted yellow beets and mushroom side. Pleasant atmosphere

I had a delightful experience at Avra NYC. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, setting the tone for a memorable evening. Avra Rockefeller Center is the best Mediterranean food in the city. I had a private dinner party there, that was absolutely amazing. The event planner Laura helped me out with everything. She was so helpful and I would definitely recommend dinning at Avra Rockefeller Center restaurant.

Wow! I felt the president when I walked in! Everyone was so welcoming. It truly was a warm atmosphere, I felt like they were happy that I was there, it was genuine and inviting. The service and food were amazing! The grilled octopus was outstanding! The shrimp I had was out of this world. And of course the olive oil cake was good. The homemade ice cream with hot fudge -- YUM!

I went with a few of my coworkers last week for lunch and it was a great experience. Food was great - the Zucchini Chips and Grilled Octopus were the highlights. The regular chips with dips were also very good.
Service was great. Kevin was our waiter and seemed very knowledgeable of all the dishes and attentive to our requests. We will definitely be back.

Rarely do you go to a restaurant where the service, food and atmosphere is all top tier. I had the lunch special with appetizers, main course and desert! The drinks, every single thing I had was excellent. The service was excellent. Came to celebrate my friends bday and we came saying this place is excellent. The food was just right.

Early dinner, really beautiful setting corner of Ave of America. The service was impeccable. We had starter, Avra chips, which is fried zucchini, grilled octopus, grilled mushrooms with cheese, dinner was grilled fish.
It started to get busy around 6pm, great place for entire family, a bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

🍽️ Dining Experience: I've visited Avra multiple times on Madison Ave, but this was my first time at the Rockefeller location. We didn't have a reservation and decided to walk in. We initially sat at the bar while waiting for a booth table. We opted for the lunch special, priced at around $37 per person, which included a glass of Prosecco and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
🦞 Lobster Pasta and Sea Bass: I ordered the lobster pasta and found it to be worth the additional $24 I had to pay. However, my husband had his heart set on sea bass, which wasn't available as the seafood of the day. The server assured us that he would bring one for us, but we were surprised to find an extra charge on the bill without prior notice. It would have been better if he had communicated with us about the additional cost.
💬 Service Experience: I personally didn't appreciate the way the server communicated with us. It felt lacking in clarity and transparency. I was tempted to challenge him when we received the bill, but my husband suggested letting it go. Overall, I would prefer the atmosphere and service at the Madison Ave location.
💁🏻‍♀️ Would I revisit this place? While my experience at Avra Rockefeller had its ups and downs, I would personally lean towards visiting the Madison Ave location for a better overall atmosphere and service

This was literally fine dining at its best with a few exceptions. The room was amazing and magical and extravagant. And the service was really excellent. However, I felt a tiny bit rushed, and there was definitely several bones left in my fish that they filleted at the table. So that was a little bit of a turn off… and I’ve said many times that, they should allow you to give half stars or even quarter stars because I would definitely have given more than a four but a little less than a five. But the room and the food minus the bones was extraordinary. 🎉🎉🎉
