Adega is one of the best family restaurants with the most delicious meals. I hosted my husband's 50th birthday and they catered for 50 of my family members. Good vibes, good food. Friendly staff, meals were done quickly and served professionally. 5 Star service to the team of Ageda. Keep up with the good service 👏
I had supper here recently and can now understand why people hardly talk about this place. The food is okay but not so great given the prices that are charged. The lady that served us seemed rude and arrogant. I don’t plan on going back here given the many other great eating places available.
Amazing service , staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was great , good portion sizes. Overall great experience
Excellent service, busy restaurant. Same, Adega tastes. Delicious mocktails.
A good experience always. I must compliment the Ice coffee, it literally hit the spot. I am a regular at Adega and find comfort at having a full chicken upon my visits, the chicken is always cooked to perfection with having a generous amount of sauce over it. My food is always hot and tasty. Definitely try them out.
They were fast and efficient
Food well prepared a good meal indeed
Comfortable family friendly atmosphere

It was my first time eating from Adega in Umhlanga (I have eaten from other branches). We ordered a platter, squid heads as a starter and malva pudding. The squid heads were okay, The platter (main course) was kind of okay (portion size very generous) but the sauce was on a salty side so I did not enjoy it as much. The malva pudding was old... you could tell that it's overly microwaved and that made it sticky and hard. I hardly ate anything from it.
Personally no complaints. I've had the lamb chops. They were done the way I like them with a generous portion of chips. My friend didn't enjoy her prawn stuffed Calamari. But overall a good experience. 👍
Definitely not as good as I remember it used to be... maybe partly as there was load shedding just before we arrived and the December crowd meant the place was packed full. The stuffed calamari was very overcooked and had no feta at all in it. The chips were really bad too, using very old oil. Chicken was average. Squidheads were ok. The grilled panga was great though. Average service and basic tables and chairs.
Such a disappointing experience.
Chicken strips main was burnt, tough and dry. The portions were quite large, no complaints in that department. "Wow" - as in wow the platters were huge.
We asked for our food to be packed up so we could give it to our dogs who, maybe could enjoy it.
Even the chips were overcooked and hollow.
We ordered veg on the side and were told it was creamed veg, only the spinach was.
The area and tables we sat at were not clean at all. The floor was dirty and I had to request for it to be cleaned, no waiter/waitress cleaned it upon arrival.
I dont mind paying good money for food, as long as it's worth it.
This was definitely not worth it.

Had a lovely team lunch here this afternoon. The staff were brilliant. We had a group of 20 people and the orders ranged from starters to mains and dessert and different drinks and there were no mix ups. Our waiters were spot on with all the orders and so friendly and ready to assist us. The meals were absolutely divine! Very healthy portion sizes as you can see from the photos below. See photo labels for descriptions of each dish. A must visit in my opinion for a really hearty delicious meal with excellent service! Superb Adega Gateway! Keep it up 👌🏼
