Very relaxing the enviroment a lot of activities to do and explore we was able to explore, learn and enjoy most of the attractions and tours.
Was here on a Tuesday afternoon in August. The island is lovely to enjoy walking around but most of the recreation activities for kids was closed during the week. I'm giving it just 2 stars because the constant hovering helicopters made it feel like you're in an Oliver Stone war movie. Can't anything be done about this, nyc?
Great place to spend the day enjoying the views of Manhattan and walking around the island. You can rent bikes or just hike around. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. All in all a great place.
GOT here for free from Brooklyn before Noon. Left from this terminal as All ferries leaving are free to leave once you are here.
Really fast 5min? ride to the tip of Manhattan. Great views from the top deck.

This is my favorite NYC local place to get away from the hustle & bustle of the NYC streets, just hop on a boat from Battery Park. This beautiful landmark has the best landscaped greenery besides Central Park in the city in Spring & Summer. Also, has the best views of NYC. The summer always has art festivals, concerts and other events. There is also a lot of history to be seen, The Williams Castle, Designed by Jonathan Williams, chief engineer of the Corps of Engineers and a great-nephew of Benjamin Franklin, created in 1811 to fight the British and later in Civil War housed as a prison for the Military had the most ruthless war prisoners. In the early 1900s the Coast Guard took over and eventually went into the cities hands to use as public space 1960s. There are many old Millitary houses and Barracks to tour. The island has water fountains to wade in, a little chicken & goat farm, plenty of green grassy space to run around on, sitting hammocks, food and drink carts. You can rent four wheeled bicycles to tour the island, or even better get a electric scooter or skateboard and enjoy because there are no cars:-) Check out the BIG slides on the south-west side of the island as well as the Lookout Hill. Just don't miss the last boat back to NYC or you will be camping there for the night :-/
The line gets long here, but they handle it well and keep things moving quickly.
Relaxing place to spend time with friends n family or have a small picnic while enjoying beautiful weather n nyc view. Stay away from renting citi bike, Island is very small , you will enjoy walking.
