Soccer Field

This is a nice 👍 soccer ⚽️ field in Riverside Park, well maintained and nice views of Hudson. The soccer field does often get crowded with WSSL players that have permitted space and others that do not have permits, but just want a place to practice. I coach for WSSL often we have to tell the individuals without permits that we have a game at the field and need the field space. I do not like having to ask people to leave but so it goes. Anyway, this is a nice field to play in.

My experience at this surf-skate shop in Dumbo Brooklyn NY thus far is 💯% positive. The store could not be placed in a cooler-hipper place than in Dumbo NYC. It is nice to go in and browse through the skateboards, surfboards, snowboarders & other apparel. The staff that I communicated with Craig & Chris were really nice 👍 laid back guys that were helpful with questions & enjoyable to chat and reminisce about past boarding experiences. I originally came to the store looking for a good carver board to build into an electric-board. The guys were very helpful, & even offered to help put the components together. So I will be back to this surf-skate shop. Plus+ they get the bonus fifth star ⭐️ for offering skateboard classes for kids. The only improvement i would recommend is adding an espresso coffee ☕️ bar 😋 and keep the boarding classes for kids inexpensive.
Will hopefully be HOT spot for people to come to go shopping on the water front pier, dinning at a nice restaurant with the beautiful views of NYC and Jersey city Skyline and to come ride the worlds tallest Ferris Wheel 🎡. I am not sure what the legal battle is all about other than waisted money with the contracting company. But Staten Islands waterfront near ferry terminal is suppose to have the worlds tallest Ferris Wheel, a new mall and restaurants and suppose to be finished years ago. millions have been spent but nothing has yet to be finished. So in my opinion, until something actually gets done the only reason to go to this park is to ride the Staten Island Ferry and see the beautiful view of the NYC skyline. There is one restaurant open near this park but food quality is poor to mediocre at Dock Cafe. Hope I can change this review some time in the near future with more positive remarks.

This is my favorite NYC local place to get away from the hustle & bustle of the NYC streets, just hop on a boat from Battery Park. This beautiful landmark has the best landscaped greenery besides Central Park in the city in Spring & Summer. Also, has the best views of NYC. The summer always has art festivals, concerts and other events. There is also a lot of history to be seen, The Williams Castle, Designed by Jonathan Williams, chief engineer of the Corps of Engineers and a great-nephew of Benjamin Franklin, created in 1811 to fight the British and later in Civil War housed as a prison for the Military had the most ruthless war prisoners. In the early 1900s the Coast Guard took over and eventually went into the cities hands to use as public space 1960s. There are many old Millitary houses and Barracks to tour. The island has water fountains to wade in, a little chicken & goat farm, plenty of green grassy space to run around on, sitting hammocks, food and drink carts. You can rent four wheeled bicycles to tour the island, or even better get a electric scooter or skateboard and enjoy because there are no cars:-) Check out the BIG slides on the south-west side of the island as well as the Lookout Hill. Just don't miss the last boat back to NYC or you will be camping there for the night :-/
