The Sa Nang Manora Forest Park and Waterfall is in my opinion a must-visit place if you enjoy nature and tranquility. The place is extremely well kept and the rangers are helpful and friendly. Entry to the park is FREE, there are clean public toilets, there's ample parking space and bins to dispose of thrash. There are also several seating areas in the park where you can sit down and chill for a while. Swimming in the waterfall and pools (with fish!) is allowed and the water is refreshing and cool. There's a trail through the park that's easy to follow and not strenuous at all. There are beautiful BIG trees, bamboo, ferns and other tropical plants and there are butterflies, lizards, birds and other creatures to be seen.
The waterfall is small but very scenic and gently flowing down into many small pools.
Pets are not allowed in the park. There was a small shop selling snacks, drinks and noodles when I was there. I stayed in the park for about an hour and a half and really enjoyed it. I'll be back for sure!!
The Tham Ta Pan temple in Phang-Nga is not for the weakhearted...
A large area of the temple grounds has been reserved with an array of statues depicting Buddhist Hell. Some of the statues are truly horrifying and may give you the creeps!
There's more to see ofcourse than hellish scenery and fortunately the temple grounds have nice Buddha and Indian Gods statues, a tunnel through a dragon's body, a cave, many nice trees and plenty of tranquility.
I think it's worth a visit! 👍😊
Located next to Souq Waqif, the Falcon Souq is definitely a place to visit. I went there in the morning at around 0800 and it was pleasantly quiet and an excellent time to stroll around and take pictures. Most of the shops allowed me to go inside to look at the falcons and to take pictures. I also visited the Falcon hospital - apparently the only dedicated falcon hospital in the world.
The market itself has an interesting architecture / building style.
There are some beautiful horses too and the view of Doha skyline, the water and Dhows (traditional boats) just outside the Souq is stunning.
