Fair Oaks Mall

This is a well maintained, clean, functional mall.
I visited the area for a conference (stated in the Marriott acres the street from the mall), and I had two opportunities to walk over and visit the mall. Overall, I was impressed. The map was a great place to walk, I felt completely safe, it was clean and well-maintained, and it had a variety of stores and shops. I can't speak to the quality of the shops, or their cost, as I only used the mask for a 20-minute evening walk, but I did like the mall overall.
For an airport that, according to my brief research, handled their record numbers of passengers in 2022 (50.6 million passengers); and with their 2021 title of most international passengers of any US airport - it was a disappointment to me. I've said it before (on other reviews, i.e., JFK airport in New York) that it's an implicitly accepted reality that airports take advantage of flyers with exorbitant prices (especially on food). So I don't decrease my rating because of that 'industry standard' (albeit sad) practice. However, for a hub of international travel I find it sad, at best (inexcusable at worst) that this airport requires international travellers to often exit and then re-check into certain terminals (a completely unneeded hassle), that chairs are SO uncomfortable as to give long-haul layover passengers nowhere to sit comfortably (or lay down) other than the floor, and that directions are so confusing (sending people in multiple directions) that people seem to be asking for directions all over the airport (myself and a passenger next to me, included). I'm not sure who benefits from these poorly planned airports, but as an international airport Miami International Airport (MIA) could have, and should be doing better for their customers.
In a very simplistic way, airport terminals (at least public, international ones) are a platform business model: where they connect airlines and passengers. These same terminals are therefore measured on the (1) efficiency and (2) quality of that connection experience.
For the most part, arrivals are the same at almost every airport: after the plane lands they try to get you out of the airport as fast as possible (i.e., efficiency). Other than a new (June 2023) mural sponsored by the Israel-Latin-America-Network (ILAN) in the exit hall (i.e., experience), and some technology to (unsurprising for Israel) speed the process, this airport treats arrivals like most other airports.
Now, their departures are amazing. They place the traveler at the center of the designed experience - and once you're through security (which is a necessary, albeit sometimes frustrating, step) this airport is more like a mall. With things to do to pass the long waiting hours, and even a digital-ordering McDonald's, I have to give this international airport (terminal 3) credit for being, in my opinion, one of the 2-3 best airports that I've experienced anywhere in the world.

Decent price for good food; and they could speak multiple languages (for internationals). I liked it here and would visit again.
Old Jerusalem is a fascinating location that had historical relations with many of the world's religions. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of those locations within the walls, and was very interesting. I would strongly suggest that guests either book a tour or research this (and other locations) to have a better understanding of the historical traditions of each location.
