Well, it is a fountain, well preserved and a usual meeting spot. You will pass by it often when you’re in exploring Montpellier on foot.

Nice castle on top of the hill. After paying €7.90 entry you can have a look inside two of the castles rooms with some info and see work of a contemporary exhibition (AI-generated art). The garden and it’s views are beautiful. If you want to go up the tower beware a lot of flies, someone really needs to do something about it + some sort of system of who goes up and who down would be needed. It’s not pleasent to wait on the top for quite some time while hundreds of flies try to eat you.

I honestly can’t understand the 4 or even 5 star ratings. Manyo is a mediocre experience - at best. The whole restaurant feels dated, the food is nothing you wouldn’t be able to accomplish at home and there are various no-go‘s. The restaurants floor is slippery because of all the fat steam as the ventilation is either not active or simply not able to suck all the cooking’s air out properly. Don’t plan to go anywhere after dining there as all your clothes including jackets stored in the entry hall will smell of oil and food. While the fish and meat may be fresh, we got ours just placed under the stove for about half an hour - raw fish and meat without any cooling. Preparation is unspectacular and gets so much pepper you won’t taste anything than the pepper itself. Shouldn’t japanese cuisine highlight the ingredients themselves? Our stove also had isolation material on the side being broken and older food was still visible in the crack. On the „show / live cooking part“ of it, it could be easily skipped. There is a kids fire brigade car doing some siren while dessert is served. Besides that it would be fine to just have all prepared in the kitchen and served from there. Our service tried hard but by no means was professional at all (nearly put sauce over us while taking away plates, grabbing spoons on the tip). You can spend your 50 bucks better if you go somewhere else.

We had a good evening there, very fast, but sometimes even too fast (and overlooking things) staff when they’re in a hurry. Dinner was decent, good main dishes, not so good dessert.
